Absolutely NO upgrades. Only a different color for 2021. :mad::mad: To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. Reminds me of the Honda XL 650 that comes out every year. Hasn't been changed or upgraded. They just throw different graphics on it and call it a new year model.

I dont see why a angle compensating ABS couldnt be added. Suzuki did it on the 2018 V Strom 1000 without jacking the price excessively. Then cruise was added on the 2020 1050 (XT only) & The std 2020 Strom lost the compensating ABS again.

I like the fact that Yamaha gave all SupTens cruise & linked brakes....keeping a separate model with ES. All models could get the compensating ABS...or jus the ES. Id rather it be all.

I don't want to turn the S10 into a BMW either, but its hard to compete in a market when your product is the only one that has not had any updates in 7 years. And if no one buys the product, production will stop.
And speaking of BMW. . . they're currently on a stop sale order until they figure out how to fix their leaking front brake caliber. What a mess ! ! !

One could argue that if it's not broke, what are you fixing. Leaking caliper? More of the that superior German engineering? No. . . . please don't turn her into a BMW.

Over at the Hayabusa site they've been grumbling for years about wanting a Gen 3 (last big update 2008) but all they get is BNG , bold new colours :D

Isn't the 'Busa's purpose in life to be a missle? Do they want a faster missle? Seems like the only ones I ever see, have extended their swingarms.

Yeah they keep looking at the Kwakas ZX14s and them Superchargers to...they're hoping for a charged 1500 , cant see it happening.

The good news is, another year production of the “old model“, means more of the same parts in the pipeline. More refinement, and why fix something that’s not broken. There must be demand for the S 10 otherwise production would have stopped. While demand may not be huge as compared to the African twin or the GS, the bike is still being sold.

I hate to disappoint you guys, but Yamaha have just announced in the UK that they are ceasing production of the FJR, after 19 years & the S10 after 10 years, without replacement at present. I guess they are clearing old stocks/parts bins in markets not affected directly by Euro 5, hence some of you have 2021 availability, just to make things confusing. Doubtless Covid-19 hasn't helped when it comes to product planning.

Thinking back, we had the old XTZ750 between 1989 - 96. Then the current XT1200Z from 2010. Hopefully replacement won't take 14 years this time. I shall be looking for something more substantial than the revised 900 triple next time. It seems crazy just to cede this whole area of the bike market to BMW, KTM, Honda & Ducati ........ but what do I know. Perhaps H-D will shock us all with the Pan America.
