BMW have used Brembo callipers for years and have recently changed to Hayes on selected models. Oh yes, and Brembo are Italian.
And the Hayes are so bad there is both a recall and a Stop Sale order on multiple gsa and hp models. They are in deep shit with the nhtsa and customers.

They are going back to brembo, I guarantee it.

I hate to disappoint you guys, but Yamaha have just announced in the UK that they are ceasing production of the FJR, after 19 years & the S10 after 10 years, without replacement at present. I guess they are clearing old stocks/parts bins in markets not affected directly by Euro 5, hence some of you have 2021 availability, just to make things confusing. Doubtless Covid-19 hasn't helped when it comes to product planning.

Thinking back, we had the old XTZ750 between 1989 - 96. Then the current XT1200Z from 2010. Hopefully replacement won't take 14 years this time. I shall be looking for something more substantial than the revised 900 triple next time. It seems crazy just to cede this whole area of the bike market to BMW, KTM, Honda & Ducati ........ but what do I know. Perhaps H-D will shock us all with the Pan America.
Yes same in Japan and SEA. We cannot order S10 anymore except for FJR.. will keep on selling.

So are they ceasing production of these models entirely or just for the UK and certain other markets? Thinking the latter since there is a new year model introduced for 2021 here in the US and probably some other markets (EU?). They don't seem to be leftovers given the BNGs.

I don't want to turn the S10 into a BMW either, but its hard to compete in a market when your product is the only one that has not had any updates in 7 years. And if no one buys the product, production will stop.
And speaking of BMW. . . they're currently on a stop sale order until they figure out how to fix their leaking front brake caliber. What a mess ! ! !

Is that..Production? or just delivery? sales in the UK.
We saw this " sestatiuon of production" crap in Australia years back for the ST1300 Honda.
What was meant was no longer importing the modle to this country.
The bike went on to be produced. Just not marketed here.

I hope sincerely that you are correct.

My understanding when I posted was that it was to be a total phase out, a cessation of production. However, in the absence of a formal press release from Japan, I now wonder whether the rumour mill here in the UK/EU was simply getting ahead of itself, breaking the news to those impacted by Euro5, with the addition of a little journalistic gloss; a familiar ploy currently, in these sensitive times, often used by the media here to avoid being seen to cast blame on legislators. So maybe, just maybe you will have a stay in the US with the S10; I think we all knew the FJR looked finished when the 2020 model was bestowed with that 'final edition' moniker.

We shall see though - times are a changin, or at least they will be in a post Covid World, if/when we manage to reach those sunny uplands. Currently the freedom to enjoy Adventure travel & bike touring in Europe appears to be under threat again next season. I know several guys who managed to fit in a short trip this year, but it wasn't easy, with borders closing, ferries cancelled, non-essential travel banned & the prospect of 14 days quarantine upon returning home always in the mix. Against this background it must be difficult for product planning right now, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Yamaha sit back & wait a while, whatever their plans were pre-pandemic.

I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide.
My guess. The mothership has had their engineers busy the past year/s. T700 updates to the MT line etc. Its rather encouraging for the future that the S10 was not killed off. Maybe its next in line for the redo?

Depending on the year, they stopped production everywhere. BUT, if you got to the official Honda site, and search "ST 1300", it is still available for L.E. only. Which means there selling old bikes, at new prices.

I don't understand why they would have put the 6-speed tranny in the bike, if they knew they were going to cancel it in a few years. I still think there's going to be some additional changing of names.

My guess is Yamaha will just not have a ST for 21 just to clear out old inventory and bring it back for 22.
Seams weird but I’m going to add my wishlist to the Tenere in my own quote.

First, the first three gears would be at least 40% lower. Since Tenere’s comes restricted anyhow why not.

Second, give me a 8” wide by 8” tall TFT display that has built in GPS, Google map, Bluetooth with a toggle button on the left thumb.
Third, give me the option to leave my traction control in the mode I choose after I turn the key off!! Give me a obnoxious warning light that I can turn off on the fly.

Fourth, let me turn off the anti-lock brakes and leave them off. Give me a obnoxious warning light that I can turn off on the fly.

Fifth, give me a worldcrosser addition with a non-motor mounted bashplate, emission delete exhaust, altrider crash bars, pannier mounts, Madstaid windshield mount, folding mirrors.
