So I had the pleasure of riding one of these puppies home from the dealer on Saturday afternoon. (Thanks to my wife for letting me be the first to ride it)
Initial thoughts are... Jean Claude Van DAYUM.
Seriously nimble, quick to react to inputs, totally manageable and predictable
Really comfortable even with the lowered (Read: Thinner) seat
Triumph Shift Assist (Clutchless up and down shifting) the Tiger's ass (Standard on the GT Pro, Option on the GT)
TFT display really nice but functionally a bit awkward for a first time user. Display quality is great, tells you what you need to know. (does not scramble an egg inside of its shell, but does most other things)
Things a Super Tenere rider (me) might say about it but shouldn't:
Did I buy the wrong bike?
Why is my butt not sore?
Why does this bike turn when you tell it to?
What's a riding mode...? (it was in rain mode as directed for break-in)
What do you mean you can turn the ABS off without having to put the bike up on the center stand?
Seriously folks, did I buy the wrong bike?
I think that this is a great move for her, coming from a factory lowered 2009 F650GS, she's become tired with it. (the GS for sale btw)
(If this bike has any shared characteristics with the 900 Rally Pro Model and I was in the market for a Midsize ADV bike I think I would stare one of these down in the showroom really hard.)
