Just color - same for both versions this time as stated above - and different graphics.

And less PAINT. It looks like the front fender, and left/right intakes are now bare plastic. So, I wonder why the delivery delay. :(

Seems way too soon to have them on the site. We haven't even gone through the speculation threads about how they won't be coming back in 2018 because they're not on the site yet.

Just seems wrong.

I agree, it looks like the only thing painted for '18 is the tank. Everything else appears to just be a sticker. Color change? Paint or swap the tank, apply new stickers!

If this is all Yamaha has to offer for the 2018 Tenere... I might buy a FJ-09 and cut back on the Tenere mileage. FJ-09 for local fun and the Tenere for trips/travel.

Dang - I really expected them to come out with a Gen3 this year.

LOL. Exactly.

I'm not disappointed myself. I actually like the zero-kneejerk long-patient-commitment the Super Tenere represents for Yamaha.

But then, I'm not easily bored either. I even enjoy the SCR950. The most unfarkled bike I have ever owned.

I'll just take it as Yamaha not tempting me to put another hole in my wallet. This year. It also means I now might consider upgrading the suspension on my 2014.

As long as the FJ09 is chain drive, I don't care to ride or even think of owning one. I got 400,000 miles on chains, and will never ride another mile on a chain drive street bike. I'm glad they are keeping the super tenere in the line up. What happened to the warehouse full of 2015s for $9000 new that was mentioned a month or two ago? Haven't seen many coming up for sale yet.

Looks fine, I'm sure someday they will improve the headlights and add self canceling turn signals, my biggest wish is that my 13 came with cruise control.

Well, I guess a '16 or '17 ES is going to be the replacement next year. Unless the FJR itch gets worse.

ever ridden an FJ-09?

Whoa! I am NOT criticizing the FJ-09. It's a fine bike for normal sized humans. Tried talking my kid on the R6 into getting one. But....it's not a Tenere. The Tenere is the ONLY bike that has ever surprised me with what it can do. Liked the Honda ST, LOVED the FJR. Rode the FJR for the first time in months the other day....didn't miss it; and couldn't wait to get back on the Tenere. Between my size, and riding style, NOTHING works as well. I'm disappointed/saddened, in my opinion, by Yamaha "cheapening" the '18 Tenere. Glad I have my Cobalt '17, and didn't wait for the '18. ::001::
