Guys and Gals I am 74 years old and bit off more than I can chew with this bike. 1006 miles riding on local roads. Jesse best new bags, Soupy's adjustable links, Soupy's adjustable side stand. GIVI crash Bars.
This bike is new. Save a bundle. Warranty until October. Located in Heber Springs, Ar. I will pick you up at the Little Rock airport. You pick up the bike and enjoy the back roads of Arkansas on your way home.
You know this is a great price $13,900

Thank you very much. I see you are a Uper. I go to Calumet each summer and enjoy the trail. Maybe we will have a pasty together one day.
I’m from the eastern end of the UP but I do several trips to the west end and Keweenaw, sometimes just for pasties. Shoot me a message when your headed that way and hopefully our schedules will work out for a pastie.

I only use my S10 for pavement, like most owners. Don't let the adventure bike marketing PR get in the way of what is a great touring bike.
Thanks for the encouragement. I still have my trusty 2005 FJR1300 that has been to Deadhorse twice. Profile picture. I will keep the FJR and pare back my 74 year old adventure goals. Just getting over a broken ankle courtesy of Route 40 in Argentina which was a wake up call. The brain is still trying to write checks the body can't cash anymore but again thanks for the thoughtful post.

Ha ha, I like your narrative, "body and cheques".
I'm 69 in another month and just bought a new Tenere.
It's a handful as it is a heavy bike. I rode an Africa Twin for two years before the Ten.
I just need to get the seat height down about an inch or so.

Shumba, I put these adjustable lowering links on my S10. They have a wide range of adjustment including stock height and worked for me. 69 oh you are a youngster. Have fun and enjoy your riding. Oh and if you do lower the S10 you will also need their adjustable side stand because stock sidestand will be to tall. Alex

I have had both of my knees replaced, one ankle is full of metal pieces and one shoulder has been rebuilt. The knee surgery recovery is quite painful but the result is fantastic. You might give it some thought if the knees get bad enough. Thanks for the post.

One thing to keep in mind is the linked ABS brakes are more advanced on the S10 than your FJR and it has traction control. Those safety aids could save your bacon at some point. It's also lighter than the FJR.

The CG on the S10 feels so high to me. It could be my lack of coordination due to age but I am unsteady pushing it around the garage. I am sure it is just me because it is a beautifully engineered bike. I may need to downsize both my bikes and adventures greatly. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Hmmm, I'm not too far behind you, the Tenere is a big bike, very comfortable when it's up and running but low speed manoeuvres and repositioning the bike in a parking lot or in your garage requires your complete and undivided attention.
Never be too proud to ask someone for assistance.
