I am a Yamaha dealer. I have had many dozen bikes over my forty plus year career in the motorsports business. Raced Moto-x in the seventies and eighties, hare scrambled, ISDT qualifiers and ridden hundreds of thousands of miles on a variety of street bikes. Started riding on a Sear Much saber and now on my third Super Tenere. The first was a 2013 that I never really enjoyed especially since I begged for Yamaha to bing it in from Europe. Then I got a used 2014 ES traded in and took it for a ride or two before going back to my favorite bike the FJR1300ES. Two months ago I bought a 2017 'blue' ES from an individual getting out of biking. I took it home (had 5K on the clock) changed the fluids and took it for a ride. It was rather like finding out you were in love with your best friend after two other attempts. The third time was the charm. I am having so much fun with the 17. Maybe its just where I am in life, at 70 years old and a stiffening left knee I had to put the FJR up for sale. The Super Tenere is just so much fun and fantastic in all forms of riding except serious off the road. I think I will end my riding days on this bike. I can afford any bike in my store but this blue bike just suits me better than so many others thet have fallen by the wayside in my journey in being a motorcycle rider.
Excellent job Yamaha, ride on guys!
