I've purchased a 2012 and have it plated in Arkansas.

That's a picture of Mossycreek putting my plate on. I used a Tusk kit, uncorked it with Megabomb, ECU etc.

Front View

Rear Quarter View

Front Blinker in the Handguards. I used the Barkbuster frame with the Tusk Plastic

I really like how the rear blinkers blend in and attach to the bike.

Other Front Blinker.

As far away as this is from the exhaust, this shouldn't burn off.

Control Switch cluster blends in real well.

The front light is pre wired for high and low beams. The tail light is wired as a brake light as well.

FMF Megabomb with Q4 can, Comp ECU. It's a totally different bike uncorked.

Mossy had never used the Tusk kit before, but he liked it alot especially the wiring harness.

Great!

But do you ride with these guys?

I may be outclassed, but I have a sixth gear! 8)

All joking aside: you have to jump through a huge amount of hoops to plate a bike that was not originally road legal around here. I'm waiting for the truly legal version. Or maybe I'll shoehorn a WR490-500 engine into my WR250R frame and then have what I really want. Lousy gas mileage but a two stroke again. You can really tell the difference due to the balance: without the four stroke top end, the while bike feels lighter.

Enjoy your new 450!

I've been considering a KTM 500 EXC (factory street legal) for a dual sport but would prefer the known quantity of Yam reliability/serviceability plus my Yam dealer is excellent and close by.

So this kit provides all you need to get a WR road legal? What about the "off road only" kiss of death on the title? What's the approximate "all in" price of the road legal parts? Is it a huge pain to put it on? As you can tell, I'm lazy and cheap so I'm looking for the simplest way to get a road legal dual sport in the 450/500 range.

That Tusk kit was about $180 shipped to my front door in NWA. It had somethings that I didn't need, like a tail light. The WR450 Taillight had the wiring to be a brake light, so I didn't have to switch it out. Also the Headlight is wired for Hi/Lo but just not connected at the factory. In some states the "Off Road Use Only" is the kiss of death, but not Arkansas.
I had to sign an affidavit stating exactly what had been done to modify the bike to make it street legal in Arkansas. Unfortunately the Ledge in 2011 required a motorcycles subsequently to have blinkers.

The Tusk kit had blinkers in the hand guards and I thought that was pretty cool .

I was recently in South Dakota and I saw a guy in Rapid City riding an ATV with South Dakota tags down the city street and pulled into the grocery store parking lot where I was. I went over to talk to him and South Dakota has a ATV/Enduro law that says as long as you keep them off the 4 lanes and limited access you can ride them. I thought that was pretty cool.
