I'm possibly looking to sell my 2012 Super Tenere (blue) that I just purchased brand new 3 months ago. It's a beautiful bike in perfect condition but with the kids activities, etc. i just haven't had the time to ride that would justify the investment.

The bike has approx. 600 miles and has had the initial 600 mile service performed. I bought the 4yr Y.E.S. extended warranty. It also has the Yamaha OEM Tank bag and Top Box.

I will post pics later but I am mainly looking for some info/guidance at this time as I haven't decided 100% to sell.

* How does the selling process work if I still owe money on the bike (I put a substantial down payment, so I'm not 'upside down')? I will need to pay it off to get the title.

* What is a fair price range for the bike? I will post pics but the bike is in perfect brand new condition. It's garage kept, never left the road or ventured more than 15 miles from the house at any given time...I know, that's pitiful...NO TIME!!

I'm sure there are other questions, but these are the ones that I've been wondering the most about.

This site has been a terrific source of information over the last several months, I appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!

Need to pay off the loan to get the title.

You may be able to transfer the loan to the new owner if they want to accept your loan terms. You will have to check with the holding bank.

With my bank both parties go and handle the transaction there. Buyer would pay the bank for the bike, and the bank would pay me the balance.

If you can't afford to (or don't want to) dedicate the cash to paying it off before selling it, it's probably worth calling your bank for guidance.

Call your lender. They all do things differently.

In my case, I told them what I was wanting to do, and they just gave me the title with the lien released. It is a small, "home town", bank though and they all know me... ::008::

MOst lenders do things differently, but to be on the safe side for both parties involved (buyer and seller) you should let the lenders be in touch with each other for the final paper transactions. A bill of sale is usually good after the banks have agreed upon everything.

Thanks for the info! I'll pay it off and get title in hand before posting it for sale.

Any thoughts on fair value?

It doesn't get any closer to brand new condition
less than 600 miles
OEM tank bag
OEM Top case

I've seen quiet a range so thought I'd ask the group.

Thanks again!

If it were mine, I would start at 12,500 and sell the farkles separately.
Good Luck,

Good Luck,
::026:: When I sold my Versys to make room for the Tenere, I sold off the Givi bags/mounts, bar risers, GPS mount and then was able to sell the bike for what I paid for it WITH all those farkles. I was surprised at how well it worked out.
