I am considering the sale of my beloved GSA. Unfortunately, I'm thinking it is more bike than I need. Never down and in excellent shape.
Here are some of the specifics… Around 5,000 miles BMW GSA panniers Givi Trekker Outback 42 liter trunk and mount SW Motech tank bag with quick detach receiver ring Throttlemeister cruise control Rox risers Touratech headlight protector Touratech center stand skid plate Touratech potentiometer protection Touratech rear master cylinder protection Touratech side stand foot Touratech cockpit 2 cover with power outlets Touratech locking mount for Zumo 660 (GPS not included) Current tags and inspection New battery installed It will need the 6,000 service as indicated on the gauges ABS, ESA, heated grips, onboard computer, and fog lamps Sargent low seat, matching front and back

Starting at $17,000 which is less than I have in it, but am willing to listen to offers. I am the second owner. I picked up the bike at the end of 2014 and haven't ridden it much. I can assist in delivery within 250 miles of 77378. I can easily accommodate a fly and ride into either Intercontinental or Hobby airports in Houston. If you have a low mileage, well equipped 2014 or 2015 Super Tenere ES, I would be willing to talk trade. Thanks for reading, and ride safe.

I would trade but my s10 is too old "12".. Out of curiosity, why are you looking at a super 10 instead of enjoying the GS?

Re: 2012 BMW GS Adventure

The 10 gallon tank makes it a behemoth. It has almost a 400 mile range, and I have an about 150 mile butt so stops are a big deal to me. LOL

It's an awesome machine and I love riding it but it's more bike than I need. I'm no planning any intercontinental excursions any time soon. I might look for a standard GS, but right now the S10 really has my eye.

To set the record straight... that GSA has a 8.7gallon tank and when fully fuelled weighs approximately 20lbs LESS then a Super Tenere. :)

Lower the weight by putting in less fuel and removing all the GSA specific protection... upper and power crash bars, metal skid plate, luggage if your not touring, etc... You should be able to bring the weight down very close to that of a GS, much lighter then a Super Tenere.

::026:: You know how many people I see riding around with full luggage just to commute or run around locally? Why would you do it to your self?

Good luck with whatever you decide, maybe you just need a change? So do it!

Change is good. I really liked my'08 GS. Probably one of my favorite bikes of all time. Maintenance is easier on the S10 so that is a consideration as well.

I think it's more change than anything. The GSA is a fantastic bike.

Hobby > IAH except when discussing IAH's terminal E.

Anyway, GSA is an awesome bike. The weight difference is huge.

Re: 2012 BMW GS Adventure

Bike is still available. I took it to Wild West in Houston for a new battery. Their BMW tech (30+ years) informed me that he thought that the fuel pump was failing so I am having that replaced as well. Better safe than sorry, and I wouldn't sell it knowing that a part was on its way out. It should be ready this week. Just so everyone knows that the bike is still available for purchase.

Change is indeed good.. i really liked my two 1100 GS's, 04,09 and 10 year 1200 GS's, '94 100PD, 650GS and a few bikes in between.. I now love my S10 ;D

Good luck with the sale ::022::

Change is indeed good, however I don't think I'll be changing my S10 any time soon.

I also owned a GS with 'A' accessories, it was a fine bike (pre WC) but I just couldn't get on with it, maybe I didn't give it a fair chance, it was exchanged for a GTR 1400 (Connie) after 6 weeks of ownership

I still maintain that I will try the latest model GS just to see what its like ;)

Not too many miles for a '12. Parts fail, unfortunatley, no matter what the mileage. What's important is that I'm having it replaced so a prospective buyer will not have to deal with it, and that I believe in full disclosure.

Let's not believe everything the manufacturers tell us, rather let's believe the numbers shown when bikes are setup for use:

http://www.touratech-usa.com/Adventure/Blog/QGfaOh/Weekend-Weigh-In-Results

2012 Super Tenere: 594 pounds

2014 GSA: 589 pounds (no luggage)

2013 GSA: 628 pounds

2011 GS: 632 pounds

2008 GS: 576 pounds

Re: 2012 BMW GS Adventure

Well I made the mistake (maybe not) and took the GSA for a spin. I love the bike and am taking it off the market. I hope everyone continues to enjoys their Teneres. Thanks for answering all my goofy questions, and ride safe.
