I thought it would be the bike for me too, but I don't feel the love. It has good torque and fantastic brakes. It gives roll on wheelies in first three gears, but I find it too light going down the road (I am used to fjr, s10 and 950sm) heavier bikes. It doesn't feel like there is a tank to hold on to. It is very tall, too tall for me to trail ride. So as much as I like looking at it and riding it around the block, it is not the bike for me. I bought this for the FI and slipper clutch to make as my dual sport bike.

Very nice 690 but... not enough miles to be a used vehicle in California and not enough CA emissions to be in California without being a used vehicle.
