We will be down in Atlin BC for the first ride on Sunday the 1st. Turn off the Alaska Highway at Jakes Corner(about 75km south of Whitehorse) and then head down the Atlin Rd. The ride to Atlin is about 1 1/2 hours from Jakes Corner. Atlin is very small and at the end of the road so you will be able to find us either on the road or around Atlin... ::012:: ::012::

Any particular time I should aim to be in Atlin if I have a choice? (Assuming I don't pull two big days and show up in Whitehorse Saturday night)

In Boston Bar tonight. Frikken front tire washed out in the gravel making too tight of a turn into my campsite. Altrider bar did its job. Scratched up but didn't bend. Pannier took a hit and will need to be hammered out. Meh, gives the bike some character and looks like it's getting used. But if I'm going to drop my bike, i just wish it was a better story.

Re: Atlin ... noon-ish. The weather has turned rude overnight, and the forecast isn't good. If it's wet, we likely won't go. The road isn't great when wet at the best of times, and there is also considerable construction.

Its all about the adventure. Bring appropriate gear for the weather and make sure your motorcycle is mechanically sound. Then go out and have a BLAST rain, sleet, snow, or sunshine. I'm looking forward to the pictures and stories.

Had a great day riding in the rain and meeting James and Bill. I just got in from riding to Atlin and I can report that the Atlin Road is in great shape and unless things change dramatically the Atlin ride will go as planned. The Atlin ride will leave Yukon Yamaha at around 10am Sunday, we will be around Jake's Corner at 11am and Atlin about noon. Meet at Yukon Yamaha at 8:30am to 9:30am Sunday. ::26:: ::26:: ::26::

Al, Ryan, Jim and I rolled into Rem's Resort about 4:00 this afternoon - in the rain......... Course it wasn't like we weren't used to the rain as that's about all we have had for the last several days. Oh well........

Good to be here and anxious to meet a bunch of new people at Yukon Yamaha in the morning!

That is good to hear. I am in Soldotna for the night, thought I had 3 days, so will turn old blue around and head back to WH. Should be able to pull in Sunday night.

Looks like the Atlin ride might be back on.

Spending tonight in Boya Lake which looks to still be a good distance. Won't have internet or cell service, so I'll try and catch you guys on the road somewhere if the weather cooperates. If not, I'll head straight for Whitehorse.

PS. Met a German couple. (Frank and Petra) on a year long trip from Lima to Alaska on their GS. Super great people. Awesome stories. However they have had their fair share of issues with the bike. (all the usual final drive stuff.) Would love to do a trip like that someday on the (hopefully more reliable) Tenere!

Going to Atlin in the morning. Meet at Yukon Yamaha 9:00 - 9:30 for an approximate 10:00 am departure. We'll see. All day ride.

Jenny & I arrived about 5:00 pm today also in heavy rain. Worst rain of the entire ride. lol. We did a drive around the parking lot of the motel by Yukon Yamaha and waved at the Ténéré's and then signed in at the Yukon Yamaha tent.

Thanks to whoever it was on a Ténéré who directed us past the dealership to the sign in area.

We're at the Yukon Inn downtown and will be at Yukon Yamaha in the morning to meet people.

Great ride this morning and great food at the joint in Braeburn! I was SOOOOO tempted to try one of their GIANT cinnamon buns, but figured I wanted to eat again sometime soon....
