Arrow header vs catless stock exhaust

There is a ton of space in the cat area after the Arrow install. I'm even thinking of relocating the rear bracket to raise the plate up. Or swap in a 12/13 bracket.

    motorcycle safety course

"If loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to ride that thing could do" JP Cycles (bumper sticker on my trailer). I can mimic all the comments as I agree whole heartedly, but the only thought I will share is that I have attended many courses over the years, and they all came into play one...

Arrow header vs catless stock exhaust

I'm running an Arrow header with stock can. Anthony's flash cleans things up nicely and the bike rips in S Mode. Had a Yoshi, but chose the quieter route with stock can. Adding the header, vice cutting, will allow you to remove and transfer, or sell, later. Tinnitus sucks, hence my path. YMMV

Grease type for the rear wheel.

IIRC, moly has a higher pressure rating and is preferred for splined interfaces. I use it on the three shafted machines in the barn.

    Widest tires that will fit?

Don hit the nail on the head. Pinch the bead and you will diminish contact patch. My C10 CAN run a 180 between the narrow swingarm, but a 170 is ideal. The 180 will be pinched slightly and create a slightly 'peaked' tread. I would think the same thing will occur if you pinch in a 170 on the...

    ES vs. Non-ES question

Norwest Suspension did mine. From what I understand, he is not doing these any longer, but I don't know that for a fact.

sightseeing recommendations for a Sept 2019 trip through Glacier National Park, Montana

Many Glacier Road is a big +1. We did that on our way thru Glacier to Alaska. The Sun road was closed due to snow(early June), so I had to circumnavigate the Park to get to St Mary. Camped in St Mary Campground before rolling up and back to Swiftcurrent and then Chief Mountain Highway. Keep in...

    Off road riders opinions

All good comments. All she needs is knobbies, skidplate, Anthony's flash, long legs, and a confident skill set. The S10 will take you far. Just know how to pick it up, load it as light as possible, practice your sand game, and ride far. I've had mine on three BDR's, Alaska, and many parts in...

Hard to shift into neutral after clutch fluid service

As an added note, IMO the clutch reservoir 'should' be flushed annually. This is not standard, but I also had the 'dirty' reservoir and sketchy clutch lever function until I thoroughly flushed system. Symptoms have not returned since accelerating flushing schedule. Rebuild kit still on shelf two...

ACD Skid Plate | Group Buy | 20% to 35% discount

It WILL take a good beating. A way to upgrade your plate is to line it with sound absorbing material to reduce the reflection of engine noise. I bought a box of Fleabay and put a layer throughout the inside. Was not too confident in it lasting, but it has been in there for ~2 years with no...

Long trip - what parts to take?

No Barkbusters? Spare clutch lever. Lotsa good ones already, so here are a few extras: Tire pump, worm plugs and insertion tools, glue, 2 tire patches, tire irons. Luck... zip-ties, duct tape, length of bailing wire or stainless lockwire. Oh, and JB weld for serious oh-shit stuff.

ACD Skid Plate | Group Buy | 20% to 35% discount

There are small countersunk allen screws on the bottom of the plate. BUT, it is easier to back out the two 'centerstand' bolts and drop the rear bracket down. I tweaked the verticals in a touch to allow easier upward insertion. You can remove the screws, but my plate is beat to hell and no...

Motorcycle.com adventure touring bike comparison (youtube video)

My S10 is in Seattle and I'm getting ready to ride it back to Florida via the IDBDR and the NVBDR, solo. I parked it after fresh oil and tires upon returning from Alaska. I'll clean the windshield, load my clothes, and roll out. My point is that I am confident in the machine, and its reliability...

Motorcycle.com adventure touring bike comparison (youtube video)

Tests ARE very subjective. Hell, they could have borrowed my flashed 14 and I'm sure the opinions would have been different. I picked mine up for 10K, dropped 3K on farkles and upgrades, and have only had to deal with a 'fiddly' clutch switch, a weeping FD seal, and a loose triple tree on the...
