UK Early Season Meet 9th April 2016

Re: 2016 early season S10 UK Nat Meet DATE NOW SET Flaky paint on the frame, corroded fasteners and pish spokes make a three year old 9.000 mile bike look pants.

Yes, been there and done that for thirty years, but arthritis is spreading from my knees so It's a no-no for me now. I've never spent £12.5k on a bike before either so using it through the winter and salty roads is another no-no.

The spokes are zinc plated apparently, and very poor it is.

All my bikes are covered with breathable fabric. It's a matter of how you want your bike to look and personal taste I suppose, me? I like shiny spokes and at £12.5k they should 'kin shiny.

How much do Yamaha pay you? There are eleven, yes eleven pages to this thread about spokes and their crap finish. As far as "strange" storage methods go, it's common practice here in the UK to use ACF50, WD40, Waxoil or ScotOiler protectorant. I ride my FJ as much as I can and when time...

Agreed, we've had a wet winter here but my 16 year old Duke and 23 year old FJ share garage space with the S10 and look like new. So for me it's down to a quality issue, nothing more, nothing less.

UK Early Season Meet 9th April 2016

Re: 2016 early season S10 UK Nat Meet DATE NOW SET Hello strangers, I've not posted for a millennia due to work and the wife's health earlier in the year but may be there depending on work commitments and whether I can hold back the rot on the bloody thing (The bike, not the Wife.)

I've not posted for a long, long while as I've been busy with work so feel bad that this post is a negative one. My bike is an ex-Yam UK 2013 fleetbike and I've spent a small fortune getting it how I wanted it. Love riding it after owning a gen3 FJR 1300 for three years. I put the bike away...

    S10 or FJR

Had both, the FJR was supremely comfortable according to the wifey, I found it a little too "George Osborne" ie characterless. S10 is in the garage and goes well enough with a re-flash and decent pipes. I did consider another FJR to keep her happy, turns out she reckons our Duke is the most...

    ACD bashplate/Arrow headers

Fitted my Arrow headers at the weekend, everything was going splendidly until it came time to re-itting the bash plate, No2 cylinders header was fouling the inside front of it. I modded the bash plate brackets with a file, but the header is still worryingly close, has anyone else had any issues...

Mounted altrider crash bars and acd skid plate

I had no issues bolting these together apart from the ACD bash plate rear mounts which seemed to splayed out too much so would not fit behind the spacers on the main stand, a sash clamp pulled them in evenly and together. I also used a piece of welding rod down and passed the oil filter to...

The Human race is doomed with attitudes like these.

The thing is Weesie it's about human nature or in some cases the lack of it. This was about doing someone a good turn and getting a good kicking for doing it, my disappointment comes from the fact as you said that it should be some one else's responsibility to pay for the goods and not mine but...

Guys, how would you feel if we changed this to a weekend, and made it nation wide?? Perhaps run it in a central location too. The reason I ask is simply this, on an FJ Club run over the weekend there were more Teneres than FJs and these guys came from all over the place for a meet in Yorks...

The Human race is doomed with attitudes like these.

As an update chaps, BHH have paid without quibble this morning the customs charges and mail forwarding costs, perhaps they've seen this post as I emailed them last night to let them know a thread was up and running. Apart from sending me the wrong article BHH have always been polite, it's this...

I know I'm relatively new on here so If I'm insulting you or your friend sorry, but he's pissed me right off. About six weeks ago I ordered some carbon frame protectors from BHH in Singapore. I received an email a week before due delivery from a guy called Aizan telling me they may have sent...
