I know I'm relatively new on here so If I'm insulting you or your friend sorry, but he's pissed me right off.

About six weeks ago I ordered some carbon frame protectors from BHH in Singapore.

I received an email a week before due delivery from a guy called Aizan telling me they may have sent me the wrong items. I replied telling this guy I'd pay the customs charge of £23, get the parcel and check it.
Low and behold it's a set of rather smart carbon heel guards, so I email BHH and tell them, they then ask me If I could forward the package on, no problems I say and add can you please forward my email address onto the guy (David or George as he seems to use both names)

BHH replied yes not a problem.

My own items arrive a week or so later with more customs charges £23, which I have to pay to get my items.

A week goes by and no email and I'm off on my hols, I return form an enjoyable time on my Tenere with the wifey in tow, open my inbox to an email, here is a copy and paste

Stephanie
This guy Pete is not going to answer, he's obviously decided to keep his free gift for himself at my expense.
What are you going to do about it?

I don't know about you lot but this sent me into a bit of a paddy, I'm not a fighting man but could have had a good ol' scuffle on the floor with this guy.

My response to him and BHH another copy and paste.

Quite obviously you've assumed I'm a thieving toe rag.

So thanks for the compliment!

Quite obviously it's not occurred to you that despite you thinking you're the centre of my universe you're not.

Quite obviously I've been on my holidays (on my motorbike) without my mobile phone as I'd genuinely forgot it.

Quite obviously I don't expect you to believe that and quite obviously I don't really care.

What has now become a priority for me is the £23 you owe me for your parcel which has been sat in my office for the past eight days addressed and ready to go. By the way I'm not trying to fleece you, it's the customs charges which I paid for knowing I'd been sent the wrong parcel as I was trying to help you out.

PayPal or bank transfer will do nicely.

Unkind regards,

Two bit thieving scumbag.

When I'm pissed with some-one I tend to get a little sarky.

I didn't get a response to this from Dave or George or whatever he's called but did from BHH asking me politely If I would still mail the package on? I responded with I'll send his package on when I get my £23 , we will refund your money and cover the cost of postage said Aizan at BHH.

Okay I thought, I'll just post it on. I informed BHH I couldn't do it until Friday past due to work commitments.

In the meantime I'm getting emails about this package from BHH pestering me about when it will be delivered, I respond with "If this continues I'll send the package back to you in Singapore and fook the cost.

So the package was posted at the tail end of last week, In the meantime I've had my email hacked so now I have no DHL number for proof of payment to customs which BHH are demanding to see before I can have any money back, and today I've been back into work going through the waste paper recycling bin in my office when I at least find the receipt from Royal Mail.

Turns out it was delivered today,

It seems that you can do someone a good deed then get kicked in the teeth and then when you try to compromise or make amends for something which isn't really your fault in the first place they then cut your balls off with rusty pliers.

Yup, no email has been forthcoming saying, hey fella I'm sorry for my initial email it was a bit strong or even thanks for forwarding on my item to me and don't worry I'll send you the £23 plus postage, nothing, nada and zip. It's all gone quiet.

So now with my own customs charges and trips to the post office etc I'm £51 worse off.

With me demanding money it's gone quiet, perhaps Dave you're too busy fitting your shiny new "cheap" carbon heel guards?

Your thoughts please.....

Sounds like you got hosed! ::002::

Buying anything out of Asia is risky business. I have been on the brown end of the stick in the past as well doing the same thing cost me over $900.00 and never seen a dime or the item.

Who is BHH? a link?

It won't happen again and unfortunately my trust in fellow motorcyclists has took a major slapping too.

Bummer Pete. I've seen that site before and nearly had a dabble, I ended up going for a carbon exhaust shield from the 'States instead. My carbon side panels came from the Ukraine with no drama, so obviously not from an occupied bit of the Ukraine ! Did you pay by credit card ? If so you could chase up the card company direct for a refund, worth a try ? Best of luck with it ::008::

They where escorted out of occupied territory by Ukrainian special forces and are built from reconstituted C/F from a MIG 29 Buddy!

Sorry to hear of your hassle there pete, ......the internet is a great tool which enables users to research and in some cases purchase products on line

Thanks for sharing you experience with this company which is one I shall avoid in the future ::008::

As an update chaps, BHH have paid without quibble this morning the customs charges and mail forwarding costs, perhaps they've seen this post as I emailed them last night to let them know a thread was up and running.

Apart from sending me the wrong article BHH have always been polite, it's this guy Dave or George that's really got my back up as he's been rude and presumptuous in his email and then done exactly what he was slagging me off for.

Still we're all different and that's what makes the world turn.....

No good deed goes unpunished, as they say. Kudos to you for trying to do the right thing. Sounds like there were a lot of coinciding circumstances that made it all go sideways but shit happens sometimes.

Once I had received the email saying the wrong goods had been sent I would have waited for the correct ones to be sent and left the first package with the courier. If the correct goods had turned up and the vendor had paid me the customs charge in advance I may have assisted in forwarding the package. One thing I would not have done is paid £23 to customs to receive a package on behalf of some random person I had never met.
The vendor has full responsibility for this situation and should not expect a customer to act as their agent when a cock-up has been made.
The customer might choose to assist but should not have to use their own money to pay a fee that is some other person's responsibility.

The thing is Weesie it's about human nature or in some cases the lack of it.

This was about doing someone a good turn and getting a good kicking for doing it, my disappointment comes from the fact as you said that it should be some one else's responsibility to pay for the goods and not mine but when they accuse you of thieving and then don't pay up themselves it's just hypocrisy on their part.

As I've said above BHH have been very good in that they were always polite and have refunded my money.

The frame protectors are nice too!
