    2012 Super Tenere

Located in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. This 2012 has 74,000 kilometres (45,000 miles). New Mitas E 07 rear and E 10 front tire and battery this spring. Valves have been done, ECU flashed, Cal Sci windscreen, and KAOKO throttle lock; but otherwise stock. Was planning a trip to Alaska this summer...

Clicking sound under seat - ABS? Why?

Must be the difference. Mine is 2012 and I'm sure the light has always gone on for a couple of seconds when the key is turn on, and then the ABS light goes off. Anyway, it would appear that the noise is the ABS self diagnosis test, but it never stops. Here's what the service manual says:

Clicking sound under seat - ABS? Why?

Jeff, I'm not sure if this is a difference between US and other models or model year but this is what my service manual says:

Clicking sound under seat - ABS? Why?

Hmmm? Sorry but my understanding is that the ABS light is suppose to come on for about 1-2 seconds after main switch is turned on and then shuts off (like the others).

Clicking sound under seat - ABS? Why?

So its definitely the ABS. From the service manual page 8-96 it says that the ABS performs a self diagnostic test when the main switch is set to the ON position and that a clicking noise will be heard from under the seat for a few seconds. So I guess mine just doesn't stop. The ABS light on the...

Clicking sound under seat - ABS? Why?

No, not fuel pump. Sorry I wasn't clear. I hear it when the key is in the on position and it continues as long as I leave it in that position. I can't hear it once the bike is started but I'm assuming it's still there. Sounds just like a clock and definitively coming from under the seat.

Clicking sound under seat - ABS? Why?

Completed valve adjustment, CCT, and clutch basket service/upgrades a week or so ago. I had previously posted that on my first test ride the clutch didn't engaged smoothly but was grabby the first two or three times I used it, but then resolved itself. I have attributed this to plates sticking...

    Clutch Basket Remove/Upgrade/Installation

Just completed my valve adjustment and did the clutch basket and cct upgrade at the same time. With a service manual and the info shared here it all went quite smoothly. Or at least that's what I had thought. Took it for a quick spin last night (3 degrees C here so just a short test ride). As I...

    First valve adjustment. What if???

I know this is an old thread and I'm not sure if anyone is keeping track but I just checked mine and all but one was tight. Just under 40k km and I don't think I ride hard at all so was quite surprised. Therefore I'm not convinced riding style makes that much of a difference. Point is: you never...

Damn you radiator fan! (Yet Another Radiator Fan Thread)

Same old same old. Dumped it on left side in a mud hole. Fan plushed in and burned out. I've got a used ninja 600 fan off ebay coming. My question is why does the motor burne out instead of just blowing the fuse? Isn't hat what the fuse is for? I'm guessing there is a obvious and simple answer...

    2014 Grill under headlight

Just a quick follow up. ExtremeLee sold me the grill off his 2014 for a measly $20 and it really really finishes the front off nicely. Best $20 accessory I've ever bought. Thanks again Lee

    2014 Grill under headlight

Thanks Mingo and Jimbob. I just haven't seen the need for additional lighting. I'll contact my local dealer for pricing today (I can't imagine what that thing will be worth) but if anyone is interested in selling theirs let me know.

    2014 Grill under headlight

Does anyone know if the so called grill (plastic insert in space under headlight) on the 2014 fits earlier model years? And does anyone have a part number for that piece?

New owner from Terrible Hut, IN. Former TDM 850 owner

Welcome Eric. You'll have no regrets and it sounds like you have a cluster of fellow S10 riders in your area. I'm kind of isolated up here. But I do fondly remember 4 yrs of grad school at ISU. Does Sonkas still exist? Man we drank a lot of beer there. ::003::

    Harley Touring to Super Tenere

If you ride two up a lot you might want to take the wife for a test ride on an S10. My wife has not adapted well to the S10 and it's not so much the seat comfort but the height. She is just over 5 ft and doesn't like feeling like she is perched so high off the ground. I have no regrets. Not a one.

    Just disappointing

You might be right. Maybe it is legal to pass on a double line at 200 km/h wherever he is from and split traffic in a construction zone. Maybe? But even IF that we're the case he's risking his life and others by showing very poor judgement. Sorry for coming off preachy but this is an issue with...

    Just disappointing

Apologies if this has already been posted here. I'd have thought an S10 owner would have more sense? Psico acelerando Super Tenere 1200

Just a follow up for anyone in Canada that may have been considering using Synmoto in Richmond BC to do their flash. After several attempts I was never able to get anyone there to respond to an email so I just gave up and sent my ecu to af1 last week (not back yet). Zuan had good luck with them...

    ECUnleashed Gen2 - RESULTS ONLY

Thanks for the update Zuan. I still haven't received a response from Synmoto since my initial inquiry. Kind of disappointing. Would you mind passing along Brian Cheung's email address? Perhaps if I contacted him directly I would have more luck. Finally, if you don't mind me saying, you seem...
