TomTom vs Garmin. Your 2 cents please.

Over the years I have had a selection of TomTom and Garmin GPSs beginning with a TomTom One and an original Garmin Etrex Legend. I recently upgraded the software on my Garmin Zumo 590 to a 595. A nice step forward. Unfortunately, then the USB connection on the back ended up failing so I can no...

How do I unlock a locked OEM pannier? The lock has fallen out.

To unlock a pannier that has lost it's lock but still has the backing plate in place: Check the hole where the missing lock belongs. If the metal backing plate is still in position you may be lucky enough to be able to open/unlock the pannier by jumping to step 4 below. If not, follow the...

How do I unlock a locked OEM pannier? The lock has fallen out.

Thanks for the advice! I have since read via Google (and a slight change in the search words) that the base of the pannier can be unscrewed and removed giving you better access to the inside of the pannier. Unfortunately, this is my second lost lock. The top box lock was lost on my first trip...

How do I unlock a locked OEM pannier? The lock has fallen out.

Went on an overnighter yesterday and when I arrived at my destination I discovered the lock from the right hand OEM pannier was missing. Apart from attacking the pannier with an axe, is there an easy way to unlock and open the pannier? Thanks.

Finally worked out how to install the new lock in the topbox .... ::012:: Backing plate is rotated until it 'clicks' in - will have turned 90 degrees to what is shown in Topbox manual. Lock mechanism then inserts also at 90 degrees to the right looking from outside the box - again different...

Installing a new lock in the OEM Topbox - help!

Like a few other owners with the OEM topbox my lock mysteriously disappeared while riding one day. To get the topbox off the bike I had to manipulate the lock backing plate. That worked however the 'flap' on the lower back of the topbox won't close properly. I'm not sure if the two are...

Has anyone made a backrest / pad for the OEM rear top case?

No branding. Here is another photo. This time the back of the backrest showing the velcro, elastic band that goes around the topbox and the zipper so you can remove the cover.

Has anyone made a backrest / pad for the OEM rear top case?

A detachable backrest came with my 'new' ST10. Haven't tried it out yet but it appears that it would be far more comfortable for a passenger with it on. Two adhesive strips of velcro on the topbox Apparently the previous owner bought the cushion (light sponge rubber with a slip-on nylon(?)...

Yes, there is only one rear bolt so I used one of the two rear ones from the plastic guard and the second metal spacer (from the plastic guard) as the bolt was too long .... not sure if that makes sense .... but it works :)

I have been given an original Yamaha alloy sump guard by a friend. However there are no bolts, nuts etc for attaching it to my ST10 (which currently has the plastic guard). The guard is complete with the welded mounting brackets and there is a square piece of rubber stuck on the guard. As I...

    Gidday from Sydney!

Just purchased a great Super Tenere two days ago. 2010 model but with only 5200km and looking like new. It replaces my aging but reliable TDM. It came with the Yamaha luggage (panniers and top box), touring screen (and original), Oxford heated hand grips and enlarged side-stand plate. Now on...
