    Changing the Thermostat

Great job getting it done. I found the only one in the US two weeks ago in Connecticut. The only other one in North America was the one you found in Winnipeg.

    Changing the Thermostat

I didn't have time to type a response to you yesterday. Not sure what your experience level is with regards to taking the S10 apart. This job wasn't that tough if you've got decent mechanical skills. The most difficult part for me was getting some of the electrical connections apart and of...

    HARD START

After reassembling my S10 from a thermostat change, the Hard Start error somehow was induced. I have previously cleared it up by simply starting bike with WOT but this time it would not do the trick. I found the above post and had to do several cycles of it but the bike finally started up and...

    Changing the Thermostat

New OEM Thermostat came in today via UPS courtesy of Danbury Motorsports in Connecticut. If any of you live in the area of Danbury MS, they really took care of me. Before dropping the new thermostat in I thought I'd test it for giggles. I put it next to the old thermostat in a pan of water...

    Changing the Thermostat

I called partzilla first and was told they had none in stock. See prior post.

    Changing the Thermostat

Good news: I got to the thermostat cover relatively easy. As OP stated I did not have to take off throttle body, just lifted it up to clear some space and cover came off easily to pull out old thermostat. Good news: I tested the old OEM thermostat and it failed, so this is likely the only...

    Changing the Thermostat

Thanks Thughes317 but partzilla says "ships 2-3 days". When I called to see what that meant they told me they had none and had to order from Yamaha and it was not available until May 6th. Boats.net told me the same thing on the phone. 5 Yamaha parts connections all said May 6th availability...

    Changing the Thermostat

After lots of scrounging, was able to find and All Balls thermostat on line. Menu said it fit Yamaha 2017 Super Tenere. I verified on partzilla that the 2012 that I have has the same part number for the thermostat as the 2017 Super Tenere. The web site did not have an option for 2012...

    Changing the Thermostat

Thanks guys. Having a hard time finding anyone with one in stock i.e. local dealers, partzilla, babbits etc. Looks like there's a back order from Yamaha. ETA mid-May! Yikes, gotta get scrounging to find one.

    Changing the Thermostat

I pulled up this thread from 2019 at my 2012 S10 has been experiencing the same symptoms as the OP's bike. Every indication is the thermostat is stuck. Ordering parts tonight including the radiator hose that goes to the thermostat cover. Out of an abundance of caution and to save having to do...

    Yamaha side wind deflectors

I had to research this thread to find why my install wasn't going as silky smooth as the directions indicate. Pain in but for my kit.

Water Pump Breather Hose - Oil Drops

Great info in these posts on the water pump. Mine is leaking about an ounce a day of coolant from the breather hose. I was going to try a rebuild but based on the info here I just ordered the entire assembly. 146 dollars on revzilla.com. Thanks.

Valve adjustment - more lessons learned

Haha my buddy the Kawi mechanic who swore he would never do another S10 valve check/adjust has already sent me a text saying a customer wants one done on a 2014 S10. Gotta do some research on potential differences in the 2012 and 2014 for this job. Anybody done a check on both years?

Valve adjustment - more lessons learned

With the help of a long time Kawasaki mechanic, we did the valve check and adjustment on my 2012 ST. Replaced all clutch plates (clutch was fried), the battery (second battery since purchased in 20120, and the CCT. There were no performance issues other than slow to start. 29,729 miles on it...

    Gear changing

I am gonna go with the shift lever linkage, as I have experienced the same thing. A little lube and problem solved. I have had this happen several times, but shifting from first to second gear. While it never hurts to check the clutch and related components as others suggested, I doubt this...

Hello All! My name is Marc and I have a problem

I have been away a while, but I still have my 12 Tenere and ride it often (all the time). Glad to see Snakebitten is still here giving out 100 percent good advice. I rode a KTM Adventure last week at a demo. Very impressive. But what SB stated above stands true with me--100 HP is plenty...
