Sounds like you got the good batch, it’s too large for the box by couple of mm’s, the frame wing where the screw bolt goes through is much more of an angle than oem ,had to press it hard to fit, it wouldn’t stay in place, not taking any chancesThat's what's in my bike right now, and I didn't have any issues with fit. Maybe the quality control has slipped since I put mine in last year.
I don't blame you; a gap in the air filter kind of defeats the purpose. Hopefully they'll get it together before I need a new one; as far as I know, Hi Flo is is only aftermarket air filter available for the S10. Then again, with a razor knife and a heat gun I can work miracles .Sounds like you got the good batch, it’s too large for the box by couple of mm’s, the frame wing where the screw bolt goes through is much more of an angle than oem ,had to press it hard to fit, it wouldn’t stay in place, not taking any chances
Are those "instead of" or "in addition to" the regular filter? These filters are the official Yamaha replacement filter fitted to new Super Teneres pre-delivery. Apparently the filter fitted at the factory is inadequate for Australian conditions. The crankcase breather inlet has now a foam cap fitted.

I believe those are Australia only. Read something about it on this forum. One of our forum members (an Australian) got to the bottom of it and posted his results here some time ago. Stupid question (because you've been here for a while) but I have to ask: You are aware that these filters are not symmetrical and have to be installed with the correct side facing up/down...right?Hi All, purchased this air filter, it looked identical to replacement one, during installation found it doesn’t fit the air box, small differences in shape of the frame make it unusable. Instead of, so if you buy new filter at the dealer that is what you get, not the pad. And there is no choice. Are those "instead of" or "in addition to" the regular filter?
Yeah, pretty sure i was installing it the correct orientation, the perforated metal guard is on the intake side, the main issue was overall dimension, had to press hard to get it in (it wouldn’t stay in place) also the “wing” where the center screw goes through was more of an down angle than the old one was by 1/4” causing the filter to lift, thanks for reaching out, never a stupid questionStupid question (because you've been here for a while) but I have to ask: You are aware that these filters are not symmetrical and have to be installed with the correct side facing up/down...right?
Assuming that you are aware, then it's unfortunate that QC has slipped on these. These were my go-to after I threw that useless K&N piece of crap into the garbage.
That answers my question then as I opened mine up and there’s pods in there!I believe those are Australia only. Read something about it on this forum. One of our forum members (an Australian) got to the bottom of it and posted his results here some time ago. Can’t remember who it was.
I fitted one too at 12k, snugg fit, but it went in ok. Got another waiting for next service. The HiFlo filters I have used fit perfect.
I've used these before with no problems. I believe thats what I have in there now.Hi All, purchased this air filter, it looked identical to replacement one, during installation found it doesn’t fit the air box, small differences in shape of the frame make it unusable.
