What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Thanks for the reminder. I need to take in my 900 Tracer GT sometime soon. Received the recall a while back but I totally forgot. I'm not sure if my Super Tenere is affected but I should call on that on Monday and make sure since I bought the bike used.

Should I switch to Progressive insurance?

I'm not really trying to compare rates to what other people have, I essentially wanted to get a general opinion of Progressive on whether they are a good company or not, especially if a claim is involved (something I have never needed for motorcycles.) Progressive definitely undercut GEICO...

Should I switch to Progressive insurance?

GEICO raised my rates then gave me the discount. Total BS. As I indicated in my previous post, my car and truck are insured with State Farm who actually gave me a discount starting last April or so by lowering my premium altogether and they continue to do so nearly a year later. I really...

Should I switch to Progressive insurance?

Guys, I really appreciate the comments so far. Thanks! The issue that cropped up with GEICO is that, last April or so they send out a letter or email (I can't remember) indicating that they would issue a discount due to the virus. This discount was to be applied whenever the policy was...

Should I switch to Progressive insurance?

I have insured my bikes with GEICO for the last 33 years with no claims, but a recent premium situation has caused me to look elsewhere for insurance. A company that I am considering is Progressive. For the same coverage and some additional services that GEICO doesn't provide, Progressive...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

I installed a new battery yesterday. I went from the Yuasa YTZ12 to the Yuasa YTZ14 and It make quite a difference with cranking. I really think that Yamaha under spec'd the battery for this bike using the YTZ12.

Manual CCT and wow what a difference.

Definitely a good question. I'm just going to listen closely for any chain chatter every oil change. I seriously doubt that it will need to be adjusted that often.

Breaking in time longer that one may think.

Though it's been quite a while have been on SR244 at least twice. I ride SR152 quite a bit on my KTM SMT. They have been patch and paving recently. I never found it to be that bad, but it certainly keeps you looking out for deer (even during the day) as well as sandy areas.

Ok, Oliver Lee SP is ringing somewhat of a bell. I have only been on US54 between Alamogordo and Oro Grande maybe twice. South of Oro Grande to the state line on US54, a sh*t ton of times. I'm not sure of which roadway around Cloudcroft you are referring as I am not familiar with Apachee...

I am definitely familiar with the Pecos canyon area. Back in around '97 through about 2001 I spent many of hours patrolling the area when I was da popo. We were contracted by the USFS to provide additional patrol of the campgrounds in the canyon from Pecos all the way to Cowels. Easy and fun...

Yes, I Iive in White Signal, about 17 miles south of Silver City. I really like it down here. I used to live in Los Alamos, then I moved down to Nambe, and I finally moved to Santa Fe, all in a span of 11 years. In '01 I moved to Las Cruces staying for 11 years, then moved up to White Signal...

Breaking in time longer that one may think.

In April of '16, I bought my '14 used at Sandia BMW in Albuquerque with 3,950 miles on the clock. Yep, someone actually traded it in on a BMW. Presently, with 26,700 miles or so, I haven't been able to tell a difference on the performance. Same power, same fuel mileage, no oil consumption, no...
