Safety recall notice received - Front brake switch

I think your local dealer doesn't understand that it's a switch and all wiring integrated into the switch, all in one long piece that snakes through and between the frame and down into the bundles of connectors under the RH side cover. It also involves removing some of the bodywork. So he's at...

Safety recall notice received - Front brake switch

Hmmm, I already replaced the switch about 6 months ago due to the cruise control issue (yes, it fixed it), but am left wondering if the recall switch is the same as I installed or an upgraded one. I see the recall letter states that "Your authorized Yamaha dealer will replace your motorcycle's...

My bizarre & seemingly unsolvable cruise control issues...hoping for new ideas.

Thought I would chime in with an update on replacing the front brake switch now that I've logged some miles on the repair. I've ridden the bike seven times now with distances ranging from 150 miles to no less than 50 miles each time. Cruise control has been working perfectly since replacing the...

My bizarre & seemingly unsolvable cruise control issues...hoping for new ideas.

I have a bad habit of rescuing 1960's Yamahas, so I understand your BSA 'habit' very well. I suppose we'd better get back on topic now before we get scolded! :)

Not to get off topic, but a small treat for Stefan for helping me. I notice you seem to be a BSA fan, so I took a photo of the poster I have hanging in my garage. I bought this original BSA poster from 1967 at a rummage or garage sale about twenty years ago for .25 cents. I'm not really into...

My bizarre & seemingly unsolvable cruise control issues...hoping for new ideas.

Just wanted to follow up with Stefan since he was kind enough to point me in the right direction to do this job. You were right about it being a 'fidelly' job as it requires real patience (and nimble fingers) at times. I really took my time and studied the layout of everything as I went along...

Black, Blue, Silver, White, Grey, Red, or Sand?

In any case, we have at least firmly established that blue is the best color.;)

Black, Blue, Silver, White, Grey, Red, or Sand?

But can it turn purple-blue in the right light like the Team Blue? And where are the ultra-cool retro speedblocks? Just a little good-natured ribbing in the War Of The Blues...

Black, Blue, Silver, White, Grey, Red, or Sand?

I still think the 2014 Team Yamaha Blue with the speedblocks is the best blue, if not the best color. I'm biased of course as my bike has this paint scheme.

    Gen1 vs Gen2 vibrations

I had a 2012 that I thought of as a 'chugger' with loping vibration at around 3k rpm, but smooth enough for higher rpm work. Then I bought a 2014 when they came out, and definitely thought it was smoother, though now, at around 25k miles, it's becoming more vibey (time for a valve adjust and TB...

Stefan, thank you so much for taking the time to do that! I looked high and low, but didn't really look in that area you are pointing to. Now to tackle the job. I don't really have the first clue about motorcycle electrics, but I sure can connect and disconnect electrical connectors! Thanks again.

My bizarre & seemingly unsolvable cruise control issues...hoping for new ideas.

Hey guys, another victim of the flashing cruise light here, no code though. I went ahead and bought a front brake switch as all the reading in this thread makes that seem like the most likely culprit. My problem is, I'm unsure exactly where the connector on the other end, under the side panels...

Owners of Corbin seat with no heat - PLEASE CHECK IN!

Yep, I remember thinking the same thing when I got mine about 5 years ago. I even called Corbin to make sure that it wasn't some kind of manufacturing mistake. Anyways, 5 years and 40,000 miles later the 'hole' is just as it was when I got the seat. To be honest I don't even think about it...
