Givi top box vs Factory top box.

Purchased a GIVI Trekker topbox with the aluminum mono-key plate. Excellent Purchase. Hit the pocket book a little harder than I would have preferred but the quality is outstanding. Such an improvement over the factory panniers. The big drawback is now having to carry a second key. It matches...

What Year should I buy and what mods?

do the accessory bar stabilizer fix. My phone and GPS wiggled around dangerously before I installed the brackets. Now offroading the dash, windshield and accessories are rock solid.

    speedometer error correction

good afternoon all, just an observation. I just completed a 5000KM road trip and made extensive use of my Garmin GPS (dont get me started on that piece of junk) and the one thing I immediately noticed was my speedometer was 10KM/hr slow at 100KMs. I used both my phone GPS/speed app and my garmin...

What do we now think of the bike

The choice of Hard bags vs Soft bags really depends on the type of riding you do, soft for off-road, hard for on-road. I have heard the hard bags saved my bike and hard bags screwed my sub frame stores. It really depends on the factors of your crash. Hopefully I don't have to find out :-) I...

What do we now think of the bike

I'm enjoying the bike very much and have started to make it mine - bar risers, engine guards, bash plate and barkbusters. I was unpleasantly surprised by the motor, I find it a little light in the power department. I find the difference between Sport and Tour mode is jerky throttle response so I...

How to Get Into Your OEM Side Cases, (Panniers), When The Locks Fall Out!

Sunday morning, my tumbler pulled out when I went to unlock my side case... NICE... my cell phone and wallet were in the case. I was able to "jimmy" the lock as suggested. I didn't pull the hing pins but I did use a pick, a screw driver and was able to turn/pop the lock assembly. Once I opened...

What DON’T you like about your S10?

I do find my SuperTenere is a little thirsty at the pumps. I'm looking at options for the windscreen, at 6'2" i find the wind buffeting a little much. I have a tall Madstrad on my Ulysses and have been a little spoiled with it's better wind protection. I'm going to try the Puig Clip-On Visor but...

Givi top box vs Factory top box.

thanks for the posts. I'm leaning towards the Givi. Kappa is available BUT its only a couple of bucks less and need to be ordered where the Givi gear is in stock.

Givi top box vs Factory top box.

right, I like the back rest of the GIVI, good point. Now for more cheap complaining; thats another 80 frog skins... Guess I'm going to spend a couple more nights under the stars, and less time in fancy hotels.

    Flat, from pillion to tail

I picked up an aluminum rack that replaces the passenger seat, was unpleasantly surprised it wasn't the same hight as the factory tail section. Not overly useful having a stepped rear section to tie stuff down too.

Givi top box vs Factory top box.

Just looking for rider experience regarding top boxes. I have limited my selection to a factory Yamaha Top Case and the Givi 38/42 litre Trekker type case. I don't want to discuss the merits of why have a top box. For some reason my local buddies insist there a bad idea. I just want somewhere to...
