    Simple math?

I would think you should be pushing 50mpg running between 50 & 60 in 6th. Knock off a few for the hard acceleration. My best tank was 46 riding 2 up at 80 and below indicated. Mike

    Simple math?

I recently got back from a 2500 mile trip riding 2-up right after break in. My best tank was 46mpg and was consistently over 40mpg. http://www.fuelly.com/driver/mstef66/super-tenere-1200-z I found that 4000RPM is the magic number. North of 4K and the mileage starts to tank. Mike

    First long trip

Is that 8-10 hours? I have done a good deal of wiring. Do all my own work on my equipment. EE by trade. With help from the list, sounds doable. Price seems right too. Mike

    First long trip

I put many miles on my ST1100 with a Vista Cruise. Worked perfectly. I like the Excel Control. I don't like the idea of the ones you have to crank to use. Mike

    First long trip

Great feedback, thanks for all the information. I used the ThrottleRocker on this trip and it can be dangerous if left in the wrong position as you reach for the brake. I have this sound absorbing material from work I may try to fill the bar with. Can't hurt. Maybe softer grips as well. How...

    First long trip

The deflectors combined with the adjustable bracket work great. It even helped with the bugs. Minimal bugs on the face shield. This combo is a keeper, no need for expensive wind screens. Mike

    First long trip

I may just be use to the Smooth V4 of the ST1100. Though it does seem excessive. How difficult is the install of the cruise? Mike

    First long trip

Well I have my first long trip on the Tenere under my belt. My wife and I have toured many miles on my ST1100 but this was the first on the brand new Tenere. We left right after the 600 mile break in oil change. We took a week to ride to TN from CT and back. I learned allot about the S10 in...

    Suspension & two up riding

OK, so it's not just me. Good to know. Most of my riding is 2-up. I have a Penske shock on my ST1100 set up for 2-up riding. Traxxion Dynamics didn't get me the right shock for the ST1100 so I called Penske and the let me come down with the shock on the bike. They reworked the shock on the...

    Suspension & two up riding

I'd like to get in on this suspension discussion if I could. I am 3 weeks into my new S10 and I am trying to get it ready for my first trip from CT to TN riding 2-up. I took a nice ride Sat to get the break in miles away before the trip. I have been reading up on some of the suspension info...

    Accessory question

Perfect, thanks markienn, should never be a problem. On my ST1100 I run heated grips, heated jacket for myself and wife and heated gloves for myself. Never a problem. Thanks all for the feedback. Mike

    Accessory question

I am new to the S10 but not new to riding. I have a ST1100 which I put many miles on and I have quite a few accessories mounted. Of those is heated gear for myself and pillion. My question is, what size alternator does the S10 have? Can it handle heated gear for 2-up duty? My ST1100 has a 40...
