I just got this ST. Previous owner told me I have to move the crash bars to get the battery out. I hope you are correct and I can get it out without too much hassle.
I get around 4k with my KLR when I use 705. But I agree with you. It's better to pay twice as much and change tire half the time.
Howmany miles do you get from your front tire?
I am in Roseville, near Twin Cities. Can I mount Trex skid plate with other Brad crashbars? The bike already has unknown brand crashbars.
I think I am going with TMM as well. Thankd
Thank you for your reply.
I never seen skid plate that big!!! You are correct, that seems overkill for a heavy bike.
Dunlop tire you mention is 250$. Do you have any idea what kind of miles I would get out if it?
My riding so far has been "bike camping" in BC, Baja and hoping to make it to Aaska...
This is my first ST. It's a 2019 with 17k miles.
It has a lot more bells and whistles than my KLR!!!
Needs rear tire and a skid plate. Any recommendations?
I like 705 on my KLR, but can't get more than 4k miles out if it. I will do probably 80/20 (asphalt/dirt).
Also, I will need a good service...
My chain slide broke off and then countershaft seal gave up. I had to limp back and makes repair and add oil every 20 miles or so from Yukon all the way back.
Another reason to be interested in a shaft drive bike!!
