Water in Plug Wells - Prevention, a possible solution

after a few days of rain the bike was running rough again, was thinking 3/2 out of 4 plugs working. I've noticed this morning when I pulled out all the coils that the water ingress is from the coil itslef. It's coming in at the top of the rubber sleve that sits on the rocker cover. I'll try and...

    ABS bleeding and failures

Thanks for that, that's good to know. I'm fairly sure the ABS unit is kaput because it wont even preform a test/cycle the ABS. The brakes are working indpendantly now. I'll have to remove the ABS unit to get it tested and hopefully repaired. New & used units are very expensive here. The reason...

The front & rear wheel sensor is fine because I was getting a speedometer reading on the way home. I did clean the sensors and made sure there was an earth to them where the bolt makes contact with them. I'm curious about keeping anything magnetic away from the sensor? isn't the plate of which...

    ABS bleeding and failures

interesting thread with very helpful tips!! I'm in a spot of bother with my ABS unit. I reckon it's now a failed unit. I went for an off-road ride the other day and I never turned off the ABS. I did slam on the rear brakes a few times. On the way home on the road the ABS light came on and...

Hi, no, only the tyres last week. It has been running like a dream for months. Quick Edit!! Update: I took the advice from EricV in the previous post at the start of the thread about clearing the codes. I wrote all the dianostic codes down this evening and checked them against the manual and...

Yamaha Part Numbers - CCT and Clutch Basket

Thanks for the info EricV, I'm in the middle of doing the second valve adjustment, I've ordered a manual CCT for it. The CCT was replaced during it's first Valve adjustment, but was it replaced with the original Gen 1 CCT. I just wanted to know which part failed.
