    I think I want a Bonneville

I had a 2010 Scrambler for 13K miles and loved it. It took over 5k miles for it to get broken in and really run right and I think their still using up old stock of 1967 shocks.

Tools you take on a all Tarmac tour.

For tire plugging I like the "T" handle rasp & plug hook with ropes and glue. I also carry a tiny electric compressor opting for the infinite air rather than finite CO2. Tire repair tools and parts can be gotten anywhere. Good gawd I do carry a lot of crap ::025::

Tools you take on a all Tarmac tour.

Whenever I do any work on the bike I use the tools I carry. It makes for a largish tool roll but I will hopefully never be stuck for lack of a wrench. Be sure the tools you carry will actually do the job, i.e. a tiny short handle ratchet will not allow you to break torque on an axial bolt.

    First long trip

+1 on both. Give it another 8k miles for it to actually be broken in and smooth out. As far as the Wee seat issue, I have the stock seat, OEM jell, and Sargent seats, a Bead Rider and Alaskan Leather sheep skin. After 63k miles I replaced the seat with a Tenere. For me this fixed the Wee seat...

    Maximum Crash protection bars?

I'm happy with my AltRider bars. Two weeks after this incident I found that the framework the holds the instruments and headlights was cracked when I noticed the light were aimed a bi high.

    Final Drive Oil Leak

I was wondering if the vent could be clogged. I did have it pretty muddy recently. I would liked to have checked things myself, but I didn't want to dis-assembly anything because of it hopefully being warrantied.

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

I knew as soon as I saw him take that line this was going to be a photo op. ::025:: That's why the KLR takes lead ::013:: This area is very rocky the mud is never very deep. I worry more about hitting a large rock and dropping the bike into the puddle. I always take the puddles pretty slow. I...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

I beat hell out of it. My brother, on the KLR, views this as fun. For me on the S10 it's a major full body workout. Tenere vs KLR Offroad 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbdbbycfVDE&feature=youtu.be

Breaking your front tire bead on the trail Solo ??

I change all my own tires at home using just the tools I carry on the bike. I break the bead (even on K60's) by working my way around the tire with tire irons and soapy water. Eventually the bead pops loose. I do use a 5 gal. compressor to set the bead on new tires. The only tire I've had to...

What food do you bring camping?

Along with the dehydrated meals I carry nuts, breakfast bars/granola, jerky, and Mio to flavor water. Dinner is always in camp but while on the move my diet is supplemented with restaurant or fast food from time to time for lunch. I also carry a coffee press, coffee and tea bags. If I traveled...
