big fan of California scientific windshields , works awesome on my Tenere . should have some thing for the Beemer. nice looking bike.
I got a puig off of amazon and its about 4 inches taller than stock. It's "fine" Not in love with it. Its more down to angle at this point not height. I locked the adjustability of the BMW part with some zip ties. Again fine, but I was spoiled on the S10 as far as wind. I'm almost sure I will go with Madstad sometime soon, but they were 3-4 weeks out, and clear is not an option right now for some reason. I tried a tinted screen once and did not care for it.big fan of California scientific windshields , works awesome on my Tenere . should have some thing for the Beemer. nice looking bike.
It still amazes me that Devil's Tower is all that remains of the volcano that produced it.
And I wonder if you dug down, would you run into more lava? Is that mound that it's on just covered lava? One of these days I'll get up there. . . . sigh.It has been one of my favorite things so far 5 months into this trip. I've gone back twice since the initial visit just to look at it again.
The more you use it, the more addicting it becomes. I never want a big bike without it, ever again.Quick shifting is something I didn't think I would like but absolutely do.
Just got my 2021 S10 and they also had a GS 1250. Test road both I preferred the Yamaha. I think I like the simplicity of the Yamaha. I didn’t like the seating position on the GS the tank was just too big for me. The S10 was similar to the FJR that I had. I did like the weight distribution on the GS it was easier to turn around in tight spots. Well looks like either choice is a winner. Enjoy the new ride!!Went to start the S10 this afternoon , massive timing chain noises. Then crank no start several error codes. Traveling full time I can't be locked down to one spot for months waiting on repairs. Soonest the Yamaha dealer can get me in is THREE MONTHS from now. "Can't" be without a bike that long.
Cycle trader searching for a quick replacement, only reasonable option was this 2017 GSA is 13,000 miles on it. Got it for a good deal. Local shop I bought it from will pick up the S10 from the Yamaha dealer when its ready and put it on consignment for me. Thankfully I had the title with me and not 1500 miles away in my storage unit. They had literally just sold a 2016 S10 yesterday.... shucks I would much rather have bought that.
WOW the power (only ridden 8 miles so far lol) WOW the wind protection is total crap at 100+mph. WOW so many buttons I have no idea what they do! I hate not having a digital speedo. Handling is very nice, nothing dramatically different than the s10 but its better at parking lot stuff.
I can't say for sure 'cuz I haven't ridden a new Beemer, but it's hard to believe it's better. The Tenere does very easy bar-lock turns. Don't know if you know, but the Tenere will allow back brake use only. As long as you activate the back brake first, that's all that activates. Otherwise, the brakes are linked.. . . . That improvement, which by the way I have in my S10….is as DD says….addictive. And even if it's not necessary...it takes the S10 one step higher...a few days ago, I went out for a short ride, with a new pair of boots. The QS didn't change when I wanted…I stopped for 5 minutes…I adjusted the sensitivity of the sensor, memorized the new setting and it was perfect again. I now have 2 settings, one for the old boots and one for the new onesThe more you use it, the more addicting it becomes. I never want a big bike without it, ever again.
