I sold mine a year ago for a 2019 R1250GS and have never looked back,. The GS so much better in every way!
It's the stupid lighting system....which is used on more, and more vehicles. IF the lights are adjusted correctly, and IF the roads are level, and smooth, and IF there is no other traffic , allowing you to use the "high" beam, they're great. They were obviously developed in a static environment. Then, to add insult to injury, around here, people are putting 4" of lift on only the front of their trucks. Now, their low beams are aimed into oncoming traffic. W.T.F. So, when they actually use the truck, as a truck, and hook up a trailer to it or put a load in the bed, it makes it even worse.….I was quickly reminded last night that the sharp cutoff on the headlights really sucks on tight sweepers....
Looks to me you're looking back today.I sold mine a year ago for a 2019 R1250GS and have never looked back,. The GS so much better in every way!
After three updates, in 10 years, the result of the 1250 is expected to be a good thing. Time will tell, ... now to wait for the ...... 1280?I sold mine a year ago for a 2019 R1250GS and have never looked back,. The GS so much better in every way!
Reviews are great on the BMW GS series. However, I do a lot of adventure travel on my bike… The great Canadian North, Alaska, Africa and Europe. The one thing I constantly read about on adventure forums is BMW mechanical or electronic issues. Same for KTM though to a lesser extent because of lesser volume of bikes sold. I don’t hear as much on the Japanese bikes. While the S10 is not sold nearly as well as it should, I don’t read any reviews of the Yamaha breaking down in the middle of nowhere. Same for Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki. Very rare for those bikes to break down. When I’m travelling on the back roads of countries were service is hard to find, I need to know I have a reliable bike. I may be settling in features or level of comfort by not having the BMW, but I need the bike to start whether I’m in the Sahara desert or North of the Arctic Circle, after stopping to take a picture.I sold mine a year ago for a 2019 R1250GS and have never looked back,. Right on all of the above. In fact, one review from couple years ago or so, the reviewer angrily pointed out that BMW has building drive shaft motorcycles since the mid-1930s. Yet they continue to break down. Why? I’m sure it has nothing to do with the cheap plastic parts and gears in the driveshaft....I'm with Kruzzin. I look for reliability/durability when I buy anything. I expect my vehicle(s) to start every time, and not leave me stranded somewhere. If features is high on your priority list, you might be drawn to BMW. But, you're going to pay a premium for those extra features. The Tenere checks all of my boxes. I'm sure there are plenty of Beemers that have not any issues. But, I've never heard of a Japanese bike leaving it's rider stranded because the drive shaft broke. I've had it happen to the one I rode, and the one my buddy rode. They blamed it on our weight, and hard acceleration. Yeah, that's not the bike for me.

That is the recommended mounting point for car seats after all. Or, put some extra padding in the side boxes, and bungee that little booger in there....he/she'll love it....mine did.….so just take the back seat off.
Facing rear-Safety first !See? Perfect fit.
