Well this bike certainly looks interesting. Currently ride a R1100RT Bmw but I'm ready for something else.
I'll probably plop down my deposit when I return to Fla from NM. I'm in a SS1000 at the LOE1000 event the first weekend in Oct. Google LOE1000.
The BMW MOA is a great group, and in my opinion the best and I'll still be a member even though I'll be on a different bike.
There is no perfect ride for many different requirements so I'm looking foward to this forumn for information on likes or dislikes, problems. I hope to contribute in the future. I still think its priced a little high but isn't everything. I bought a brand new Hodaka Ace 100 for $365.00 in 1969. That was one great bike, still one of my favorites among many.

Welcome aboard, Roninfla1. Unless you were born prior to October 28, 1948; I am going to call you "Youngster". I bought my 1200Zed for $12K even out the door from D & H Cycles of Cullman, Alabama; I will have to pay Arizona State Taxes and Vehicle registration fees when I return to Maricopa County, AZ. But, $12K is 75% of the list price of a 2010 BMW R1200GS. My BMWMOA # is 24810; joined MOA in 1979!

Of all things Ron, I'm currently looking for a Hodaka Road Toad to restore; add it to my three BMW's, two Yamaha's and one Harley-Davidson.

Venture, my nickname on both www.fjrforum.com and www.azbeemers.org/forum is Senor Chuy Medina "El Burrito Ballerina"!

20 years ago, returning from a Mexico trip to San Miguel de Allende, mi Chicano Amigo Ruben Guerra of Benson, Arizona hung that handle; has stuck to me for two decades now. Feel free to just call me Papa Chuy, every dual sport guy in the American Southwest calls me Sr. Papa Chuy!

Howdy all. I'm only 66.8 years old, so I like to think of myselft as a Seasoned Citizen. Maybe in a few years I'll fess up to the senior status. Wait a minute, I get the free coffee at Mickey D's so nevermind.

We seem to share a similar mindset. I got my FJR in July of 2002 and rode it for 5 fun years. I now have a 2006 GL1800 and a 2003 V-Strom (ran out of room in the garage so the FJR was adopted by a foster rider). The new ST looks like an interesting ride, so I'll have to follow along, but I think I will try to wear out the Strom first :)

Another FJR owner here. Are we all closet off roaders but just can't give up our shaft drives? ;)

Well, I'm oldener 'n dirt. 64. Wife too. She's spendin the week pullin old fences up in Hell's Canyon on Idaho-Oregon border. ROUGH country. We been riding a 1200GS all over these mountain & desert states since 06'.I rode dirt alone & an ST1100 with her on it before that. Never, ever on asphalt with the beemer if we could help it. LOTS of dirt in these parts. Clobbered a deer 3 weeks ago on the BMW.Totalled it JUST in time to order the Tenere(insurance check almost covers the Yammy). Thanks deer.R.I.P. LOVE jap bikes. Had lots of problems with the GS but it did do amazingly well on nasty steep, rocky, loose back roads. Hope the Tenere has as much torque.Or almost, anyway. Getting SOFT bags for the Tenere. Broke my leg on those Jesse lunchboxes I had on the BMW--drug a leg under one in deep sand. CRACK ! Nothin ever could break that leg before. Gettin oldener 'n dirt,I guess. Looks like a real nice site.

I've read some of the rumors about the supposed 1200 Tiger and its supposed shaft drive. Like you said, 2011 is going to be one heck of a year for bikes in the adventure segment.

Well, so far I have you youngsters all beat. Turned 67 in July. My Super Ten will replace my 08 ST1300A and 08 KLR650. Well, the ST is on the sales floor for sale, but I will wait to see if the Super Ten handles at least as well as my KLR with Ricor suspension on my favorite Ozark twisties before deciding whether to sell it also.

I also stay young by racing my Bultacos in AHRMA national events. Won another national championship on my 78 Frontera 370 this year and will be racing my 74 Pursang at Barber's Vintage Festival in Birmingham this weekend. Of course, this is in the 60+ class, as I only have to race against kids my age in that class. ;)

I'm sure you're right, Swagger, but will keep he KLR to have something to ride until the S Ten gets here. As I mentioned, the 08 ST1300A is already on the showroom floor for sale.

Hi
I'll be 67 this Dec. I currently ride a BMW HP2e, at 5'9" I'm tired of a 36 inch seat height. I set on a Multistrata yesterday, it has a 33.5 inch seat , I can live with it, so the Yamaha seat height is about the same. My HP2e is 389 lbs dry weight so 575 lbs for the Yamaha seems a load. I will probably wait untill I can test ride one, but then again might not wait, at my age you can't wait too long.

I currently own 2 Super Tenere's (93 and 96) (for sale) and a XT600 Tenere (91 - 3AJ) ... anyone with a dream as mine can join.

my dad is on an 06 FJR and he doesn't like it. He is 62. I keep mentioning how good the ergonomics are on the Super Ten. Maybe he will someday jump!!!!
