On my way to an important meeting at London City Airport, and coincidently just passing my office in central London, I had a blow out  Had to get the rescue services to get me sorted. Rear hoop on the FJR ..... so having replaced the front tyre last week I now have a new rear ::)

Took most of the day to sort it out .... so had to take it as annual vacation :(

Anyway I now have matching BT023's ..... £260.00 in all.

I'm glad you're ok. I've read about others who have had blowouts and haven't been so fortunate.

Yes 260 odd kgs of rampant FJR get your attention real quick. Back of the bike stepped out and got very squirelly as it came to a standstill  You should try pushing a bike of this size in rush hour traffic not the best experience I've had.

Well best part of it all is that you didn't sustain any injury or damage to the bike...beyond the tire.

That is a crap way of spending a vacation day. Glad you are okay. I have never had to deal with a blowout but understand it can be tricky to deal with depending on conditions and speed involved. Tomorrow is a new day!

I'm sympathetic. Had a flat this summer in the middle of nowhere, Arkansas. 70 mile tow to a dealer with a tire to fit the ST1300. Very expensive.

Happened in a nerve-wracking spot with no room to get far from 60 mph big truck traffic, too.

Glad you're OK.
