So you are asking about the Yamaha panniers? There must be 10-20 options from other manufacturers.

These measurements are of the "clearance" area inside because there's a few small protrusions into the case from the keyway cover and the hinge straps...

16" front-to-back

7" wide

13" deep.

Stock Yamaha panniers that would come standard in Canada ...they will be attached from Yamaha from the factory
That explains the confusion. The panniers do not come standard in the US, they are an extra optional expense. A lot of folks buy other brands as a result, if fact I think most Super Teneres I see around have different panniers on them.

I find the Yamaha liners are expensive so may opt for these bags from MEC in Canada

They are $18.00 each and will leave me room to add stuff sacks with shores tools etc..all the while keeping my close separate

The large one measures 14" depth x 5" width x 10" long..

I normally use one liner. The other side are items I don't need to remove... tools, etc. If I am concerned with theft or vandalism I remove the side cases.

I use 1 gallon zipper zip loc bags for clothes, just several bags. That way if a leak occurs (the luggage lol) my clothes should be dry.

The liners wear out, so I use fabric grocery bags. My panniers are larger than OEM and each swallows two bags. Anything needing to stay waterproof goes in a plastic bag.

I just got my new 2016 S10 and the bags are not installed at the factory. They came in 3 cardboard boxes, the lock tumblers (3) came under the seat. Maybe the dealer was supposed to put them on for me ?. Amazing that we Canadians get the bags for free and everyone in the US has to pay for them.

No offense, but Yamaha doesn't give their product away for free.
They might INCLUDE their product in your purchase.

Appears a couple RMATV medium sized liner bags will fill one OEM pannier perfectly. Only $18 per pair and good quality. Personally I prefer smaller liners anyway to separate cooking gear, tools, food, etc. from clothes, riding gear, toiletries, etc. The medium liners are also a perfect fit for my Jesse lids and 2 large liners fit the main Jesse section on their sides.

I absolutely agree that nothing is free, but if I were to walk in to a US yamaha dealer and pay list price for a new 2017 S10 it would cost me the equivalent of about 21,500.00 CDN.( at 1.33 CDN for every US dollar).
At an Ontario Yamaha dealer it would cost me 17,999.00 CDN, including saddlebags . This does not include freight or pdi, just comparison on list prices. Until I did the math, I had no idea there would be a 3500.00 difference. Based on list prices for ES models.

Keep in mind that left pannier has a narrower interior dimension in the bottom half. This is to avoid the exhaust.

Right pannier interior width is 8.25". Left pannier interior width at the bottom is 6.4" (same at the top)
