Got my Hyperlites installed. I'm having trouble with my Whelen strip light though.
I must have my wire colors messed up. I have the right turn as black and green. The left turn is blue with white dots. I believe that the running light is blue. The brake light is yellow. Is that correct? My bike is a '23. Thanks

Got it sorted out. I put my Whelen brake/tail/turn strip light under my tail rack just above the stock brake light. I put my Hyperlites on each side of the tail rack at the top of the cubby space or whatever you call it. I like having the lights up high where hopefully the cagers can see them better. I'll try to get some pictures later.

Now I just need to get my driving light wiring harnesses in from EasternBeaver so I can get my PIAA's and Auxbeam's mounted up front.

Today I replaced the packing in my Delkevic muffler. It was sounding a bit loud and rattly. Delkevic has a kit for this job that includes packing , new rivets, and exhaust sealant. I also received a larger dual screw clamp in the kit.
Drilling out the rivets, changing the packing and stuffing it back together was a bit fiddly but putting in the new rivets was another story. Got the first one in but it took all my strength. Trying to do the second one just wouldn’t go and bent the crap out of the rivet tool.
Off to Harbor Freight! They had the same tool as me (I probably originally got it there) and noticed the labeling said “for wood and plastic” no wonder it broke. Luckily they also had a heavy duty “professional” one. Bought that and it worked a treat to finish the job.
I was surprised the old packing was still mostly there but blown out around the core, especially toward the front. It’s definitely more solid and less rattly sounding, if not a wee bit quieter overall now.

Got my driving lights installed yesterday and made a dash panel for the switch. Plan to add a volt meter at some point. Old plastic wheelbarrow is worth keeping for such a need
I’m very happy to see that I’m not the only person out there who keeps random bits of plastic because it might be good for making into something else

I’ve just had my ECU returned from Off The Road in Germany to be retuned to remove the factory settings to detune it for pollution standards.

Firstly, it was a bit hard to tell as I’ve been riding the TDMs for the last few weeks. One of them being original everything and 268,000km and still heaps of fun to ride (the 900 in the TDM is what the 1200 in the S10 was based on).

The verdict is that it rides like it’s in sport mode while in touring. Better low down and at speed. Not tried it yet in sport mode.

So far: VERY happy with the result!

I should add that this is on a 2010 model, Australian delivery, with full Arrow system, pods in the airbox, and the dB Killer removed from the exhaust. I could hear very well how the motor was performing through the rev range.

I'm curious to know more about this. What did you send to Germany? Just the ECU? How did you tell them what changes you wanted made? Is there no one in Australia that can do this? I'd be keen to get my 2017 S10 done as when you back off the throttle or disengage the cruise control its like I've deployed a braking parachute.

I was putting my S10 away last night with out my helmet on and I noticed the clutch lever had a really dry squeak and it felt like there was a lot of stiction. Tonight I removed the lever and cleaned the moving parts and pivots with some low odour kerosene, my go to cleaner. It was very dry and the pivot for the span adjuster was really stiff. I used some aerosol chain lube on the span adjuster and some lithium grease on the brass collett and on the pivot hole and bolt. Smooth as silk now. Only took 20 minutes.

Its a job I normally do when I buy a used bike but hadn't got around to it on the S10. I'll do the brake lever tomorrow.

I sent just the ECU unit.
I have to admit that I didn’t do much research into anyone being able to do it here and, funny enough, as soon as I sent it, an advert came up in a browser for someone who does it here.
In hindsight, I should have enquired about lowering when the cooling fan kicks in but got too excited when I noticed that they had a 25% discount on their price of doing it.
Unfortunately, the €60 euro postage each way (120 all up) makes it equivalent to the starting price of the mob I saw here.
So, while I say that it was a good thing to do- I wouldn’t advise someone in Australia (or NZ) to do it the same way.

Remounted my nav. The first ball mount snapped after some abuse, so I'm gonna see how this one holds up and revisit it this winter. I put 3 cotter pins through to lock it in place. :)
Also, started breaking in a new rear tire. Really want this thing to last more than 5000 miles, so I'm working on smoother starts and stops. Got 60 miles in today, and still has the little flash nobbies!

I've always ass-sumed that those that have the power to change to metrics . . . . are too old to learn metrics and don't want to change.
This.

I was told by people that where adults at the time of the change over. Grade school teachers where even dead set in not changing according to them.

Ironic holding onto the imperial system. US was always hyper concerned with our identity during the cold war. Even if it defied logic. Even worse with Russia. Btw Putin is a bastard.

British people have silly accents and alot of street crime. Bad food. Top gear is dead. Jeremy Clarkson is the last great Brit.

Aussies have even sillier accents but are funnier and less depressing then brits.

I'm drunk...
