I was riding home today on mostly the highway but some "surface" streets and kept thinking what was my favorite gear to be in. I love my Aerostich one-piece suit but I mean the gear as in the gear I am shifted into. For me, in Los Angeles, it has got to be third gear. It seems like I can go from 15mph to hundreds, even millions of miles per hour for slow. She just pulls and pulls and pulls .... It's not first gear because that gear for me is way to "jumpy" or "insert adjective (or adverb) here". Even second gear can be a little "jumpy" but third gear, oh man ... :) ;) :D ;D ::008:: ::022:: -!!!

Anyway, I was just thinking about it, and how ones main riding location would be a factor in this question.
Best,

good thread fender ::008:: well since the ECU flash i luv every gear except 1st its just not worth having its so short, i wouldnt even use it off road, 2nd is so grunty and powerful, 3rd is awesome pulling my arms out the sockets and taking me WAY over the speed limit, which in turn makes 4th better as i tend not to shift to early so it makes 4th feel stronger (which it is because of the fash), 5th is great on local roads just cruising around, plenty of mid range power for overtaking (after the flash). and 6th is similar to 5th in terms of overtaking power but much deeper and longer for highways (motorways) with the new screen i can sit all day at 100-120 mph, with plenty more to go ::022::
did i mention i luv my bike ::001::
except the tarnished spokes :(

Well I find the box nice enough to make any gear a pleasure, in fact at the moment I just shift around the gears just so I can get sick of it and find something to whinge about.

Actually I was having a think about that the other day, I ended up just cruising through towns in what ever gear I left it in and realizing that the lurching coming out of the town was the engine trying to produce any torque at all just above idle :D

It still pulled away though, Bit chugga chugga but it worked OK. So I would say for my last ride mostly 5th bit on the other hand in the twisties...

Ah bugger it 2nd - 6th are my favourite ATM.
