I've just ordered a Garmin Montana 650T to replace my 590LM.

my reasons why are I have no use for Turn by turn navigation, I also have very little use for much of the features of the 590LM a smaller unit will be easier/better to use off the bike when hiking and from what I have seen I really like the way the Montana displays nothing but the map on the screen unless you opt to have other data displayed, making the smaller screen size moot as the 590 uses a lot of screen Realestate for displaying the name of the road you are on and other trip or navigation stuff for which the I have the dash on the bike to tell me what the time is and how fast I am traveling or how far I have come etc.

I had been using my Montana 600 for just off-road riding and a Zumo 550 for street duty. Well, I sold the 550 and was forced to really learn my Montana for street use…

With City Navigator loaded, its not that bad. For street use its like 10 year-old technology, meaning the features aren't there but it'll do the job. Its a bit slow to update directions in the text portion telling you where your next turn is especially if its something like a quick left and right or vice versa. The street name text updates too late and you'll miss the turn, BUT if you look at the directional arrows you'll be fine.

If you have a Montana this is a very informative site; http://garminmontanagpsr.wikispaces.com

I've been using a Zumo 660 for the last 4 years/+100.000 km both on and off the road.
It's tough, easy to use, great selection of maps (both Garmin and OSM) and have all the features that I need/want - including a MP3 player.

If I was to buy a new GPS today I would get the Zumo 590 - it has the same features as the 660, it works faster and the screen is significantly better especially in bright light.
But as I'm a cheap bastard who rather spend my $$ on beer and gas I'll keep the 660 as long as it works as it should.

I have a Zumo 660 but I'm gonna sell it and go to an Android based phone as my GPS. I can't stand Basecamp. I'm not super techy and can never figure it out. I figure looking in different used markets I should be able to get about $350 out of mine with the Touratech mount and maps that it has. If anyone is interested PM me.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Active with Co-Pilot for most street type stuff and OSMAnd+ when I need to follow a track.
I'm stepping up to a Galaxy S6 Active this week, but might just use the S4 as a dedicated bike Nav and music and tether it to my S6 for data.

I have a Garmin in 60CSX, but I only use it on the KLR. Somewhere I have a Garmin Oregon, but you can't see crap on it in the Sun, so it's used for hiking and geocaching only.
