Hello … My name is Michalis I own a Yamaha xt1200z super tenere of 2015 and the last days while the bike temperature goes until 87C i notice that it send the water back to the assistant water tank and from there it leeks out.I change the radiator tap with new and the bike is fully maintenance when it needs. It have only 44k kilometers. If someone knows what is the problem I will be very gratefull.

87C is cold…so I would check the tap again (make sure it is identical to the original, with the same opening range and both rubber seals)...if the cap is good, and the fun turns on at 105c, and the radiator is free of obstructions, ….when cold, fill the radiator well to the limit, leave the expansion container halfway... and I would test it again... if it continues to pour water into the expansion container... "you could, perhaps"... have a compression leak, but this is the last thing to rule out...the first thing is the cap...sometimes they look the same but they are not

The cap could be original Yamaha, they are all very similar, so you should check the opening pressure and especially their height...if a cap is 2 or 3 mm shorter, it will seal, but the spring will remain with less tension and will open sooner….

Sounds like the overflow tank has been overfilled, there are lines on the tank to indicate how to fill it when cold.

If it’s overfilled yes antifreeze will come out the overflow tube when it gets hot that’s exactly what it’s supposed to do.

In case the cap is okay it means that is the cylinder head?
First you have to discard everything that is most accessible. If the temperature works within the normal operating temperature ranges, it indicates that the system is working well (radiator, fan, thermostat)...if you have overfilled the container when the engine is running in the normal temperature range....the first culprit is usually being the cap….thinking about the cylinder joint is ultimately about discarding all of the above…..
but we are talking about a starting point: radiator completely full when cold and the expansion tank between the minimum and maximum…..And a minimum proportion of refrigerant that guarantees that the water will begin to boil around 120C
