There is an online tax duty calculator available and using Mikey's example the costs come out around £372. That includes 6% import duty on engine parts plus 20% VAT payable on the purchase price, postage costs and the import duty, so as usual we pay tax on a tax. Still a good saving though

At this rate, its soon going to be cheaper to import a S-10 than buy it locally !!! typical rip-off UK !.....doesn't surprise me anymore. Even Apple and Microsoft products are 20% cheaper in USA / CA !
Not really, for one you cannot buy a new bike for export in the US!! I know, every other country in the world allows it but not the US, then even if you get a 'demo' bike you'll end up paying £5-600 shipping and then 10% import duty and 20% VAT on top. Sucks, so much for 'free' enterprise ::009::
