I run Roadsmarts on my current bike (GS) and if I buy a Yamaha would fir them straight away, the bike came with Deathwings (horrible) I then used Tourance EXP's which felt nice, but seemed to wear quite quick, now on Roadsmarts and have got 4k out of each rear tyre with the fronts lasting nearly double that.

I am sure they would be hopeless off-road, but there is nowhere to ride off-road near me, so I can't see the point in compromising on grip / wear to get some minor off-road capability I won't use.

Put over 6K miles on the Hidenau's and looks like they are good for another 6K plus. They are not as smooth as the Bridgestones that came on the bike. The first 500 miles is a "break in" where under heavy braking there was some slight oscillation. However they smoothed in and on gravel the KFA compared to the Bridgestones. Took them on a 9 day trip from Ar > NC > Ken > AR 4.5 K miles and they were fine on the pavement.
