Besides The obvious; 1 UGLY Gray Bearded,Ball headed,Bird legged old man on 2 different bikes :D :D :D ::025:: ::025::
What i am looking for is What you all see seating wise that is different on the 2 bikes.The biggest thing i feel & see is the Foot peg height between the 2 bikes.I am thinking if i get a Low seat,plus have the seat in the low position i might make up for the difference in height. Would that also bring my arms back enough to make a difference . Any ideas would be GREATLY Appreciated. I am having Major Issues with my neck & Shoulders,Pain wise..I wanna keep this Tenere !!

Looks to me like the Pegs need to come up or a lower seat along with some bar risers. To me it looks like most of your problem is in the bars. It appears you are reaching a bit more on the tenere.

besides the distance from you seat to your pegs (more on the S10), your bars on the BMW are closer to you.

The ST seat tips forward. If you lower the back of the seat by changing the bushings it will rotate your hips and you will sit better. Then raise the bars just a little. !" bar risers.

I agree with the bars needing to be raised and brought back. If you look at the pics your arms are much higher and the elbow bend is more.

That will get rid of the neck pain, along with keeping your elbows in to your body.

I would stay with the stock seat in the low position and maybe install the SW-motech pegs, which can be lowered about 1/2" and removing the rubbers will take off another 1/4".

On the risers, I am using Rox 2" risers with the extended clutch and brake lines. This really helped me with my neck and shoulder pain.

Yep, taking the tilt out of the seat really helps. Buying an after market seat is even better.

I was thinking of getting a Lower seat,wouldnt that move my arm's back?As for the Pegs,Wouldnt the lower pegs straighten out my arms even more?

Usually folks want their legs less bent rather than more bent like your BMW. It looks to me to be all bar position. Looks like you'll be needing to change your bar shape or just raise it. Are your legs bothering you when they're not bent as much on the Tenere? I'm 6'2" at about a 33" inseam, I've raised the bars 2", lowered the pegs a half inch, seat in the tall position, and just recently raised the back of my Rick Mayer saddle back up to the oem slot. I'd like the bars a bit closer to me, but I'll need to install the longer lines I've got before then. It's good now, but fiddling around can be fun too.

From what I have read, I'm not sure the seat will do what you want. If you look at your pics, you sit more level and the bars are much higher than on the Tenere. Take the tilt out of the seat and raise the bars. I really think you will like that. Worked for me.. YMMV

Thanks for the Reply Don in Lodi, ::008::My legs dont bother me at all on The Tenere,its all just neck & Shoulder pain.I myself am 6'3" with a 35" inseam,I tried a Tenere with 2" risers with a Bill Mayer Seat( I Think) And after about 10 minutes it was the same pain in my shoulders The seat was leaning forward some what. ::010::I was thinking about a Aftermarket low seat in the low oem setting would get me more sitting in the bike instead of sitting on the bike (if that makes any sence)..How did you lower the foot pegs?I was trying to think of a way to raise them myself since the Tenere's are 2" lower than the beemers.Thanks again Don In Lodi!! ::008::

Agree with others, bars up and maybe back. That would be my first change. Let it soak and then go from there. One change at a time.

When I ordered a custom made seat a few years ago for another bike, the vendor wanted pics of me sitting on the bike. But he wanted pics with the bike on both wheels, not on the centerstand. In looking at your pics, I can see why. The BMW appears to be almost level while on the stand, the front and rear tires appear to be touchin gor almost touching equally. With the S10, the front naturally is all the way down and the rear is way up there. I don't know how this affects your posture, but it surely makes a bit of a difference. Of course, you have to have someone hold the bike steady for you to do this, but it might give a better representation of how you actually sit when the bike is level.

OTOH, it does appear that you have more elbow bend on the Beemer than the S10 and I would join those that suggest bar risers as a first step. The $20 ones mentioned above are a cheap way to see if that type will work for you or do you need to go the extra mile and lengthen the hoses so that you can get the taller pivoting risers.

I had the same pains with my KLR and Big XT. I went with a 1" rise and rotated the bars forward a tad to keep my elbows out and added a palm throttle. Pains gone.

Don't know if it will help you, everyone is different. I am 6'-1". I maybe 6'-0 now that I am older? I better order some 2" risers. :) My arms are getting shorter too. Can't see a dang thing up close. May be I better order Rox-Risers. ::025::
