So I picked up my new Triumph Explorer in VA last Friday and rode it home to FL. 1000 miles in 24 hours. Figured I might as well share my thoughts on the bike. In Full Disclosure I am a wanna be S10 owner that got such a good deal trading my Triumph Trophy in on the Explorer I had to take it. That and I couldn't find a Yamaha dealer that would let me ride an S10. First impression, it's HUGE and it's top heavy. It took enough effort to hoist it off the side stand that I almost threw it over the other way. No Joke! Once you get it moving it's pretty ok. Engine has a ton of go and the steering is light, quick, and predictable. Seat is comfortable and windshield is pretty good. Cruise works great. Really nothing to complain about with the bike What it is is a tall touring bike, not an adventure tourer. You would have to be a braver man than I to take the Explorer off a paved road. In fact I will probably switch the tires to PR4s in the next week or 2. While the Explorer and S10 are both nice I have the feeling that the S10 fits the job description much better. Now all I have to do is get one.

Thanks for the feedback. Fits with most other peoples opinions so that's good. Good to know when someone needs a recommendation. ::008::

If you wanted to ride a Tenere all you had to do was stop by. :)

Congrats on the new ride, and if you're ever passing through Jax my offer for a Tenere test-ride stands...
