I installed the PDM60 and used the DC adapter (recommendation from Yamaha mechanic), the problem is the DC line is always hot and not a good trigger location. Any recommendations for a good trigger wire to tap at the front of the bike? I mounted the PDM60 under the upper right side panel so I can see the lights just under the panel.
Thanks, Lloyd

I used the hot lead for the 12V socket as the ignition on trigger for my Neutrino Black Box. IF that is what you are calling the "DC adapter" then I am surprised to learn that it is hot with the ignition off. Did a PO modify it? There is also an ignition on hot wire in the 3-wire accessory connector. just forward of the battery and buried behind the main harnesses.

I just realized I have been turning the key past lock to parking lights and it triggers. It works fine if I turn the key off or locked. Thanks. Thought I would have to rewire it, but I don't. Thanks.

Love the PDM60, it is an easy install.

Ok good. I didn't realize the socket was hot with the key in the park position. Almost never use it.

I was going to use that but the 2017 connector had four wire all colored different from the diagram so Iavoided using it.

There should also be a 3 wire plug near the 4 wire. The 4 wire was for the Gen 1 heated grip kit, and as far as I know, they have yet to remove it from the harness...

I will look again. I did not see it earlier, I was looking for it from photos in an earlier posting.
I have heated grips standard.
Thank you, Lloyd

The easiest trigger wire imho is the cigarette outlet. The other benefit is that the biggest source of electrical failures is what WE do to the bike, not what comes from the factory. If you lose the cig outlet it's no big deal.
