For anyone interested...today i installed a new Metzler Next replacing the same tire. Got about 8600 miles on it. Could have gone a little more, but why take a chance? Also swapped out the original rear brake pads after 15,673 miles. As you can see they could have a lot further. Pulled driveshaft and greased front splines, easy. Removed and greased lower suspension pivot bolts and bearings..no rust but this is primarily a street bike. I was reminded how much a lift makes this so easy on near 60 yr. old back and knees. Also whoever came up with the idea of putting the axle in from the left side to help line up the drive gears and then remove it and put in from the right is a genius...works like a charm.
