Throttle Body out of sync?

I did a search and found way to adjust and sync throttle bodies, but not what I'm after. Please move to another section CW if I'm in the wrong one.
What are the symptoms of out of sync throttle bodies?. I don't mean " the bike won't run well", I mean specifics, the reason I ask is that while riding I notice what I can only describe as a 'thack thack' pulse through the rev range, no surging no drop in economy. A bit like a short stroke big cc V Twin. The bike is a 2012 with 16500 and standard, only new '14 clutch basket, plates and steels. Also, the CCT sounds ok, a little tappy on start up for about 3 -4 seconds. I bought from a dealer about 1 year ago and they said the 12k was done including plugs.
Many thanks for any help and clarification. If I'm honest any fuelling or electrical issues I'll be taking to the local dealer, everything else I'll do on my own.......... with a hammer and screw driver ;)

CW, I read those, but I was after a "yes, this is what your bike will be doing if you need a TBS", the threads are great if you do need to do it, or rather my dealer ::025::

Then with your description and miles
Yes, this . . .

Seriously, it can't hurt and can only help. My guess is that you'll be surprised afterward.

With the age of your 2012... also check the vacuum caps since they can split / crack / harden and allow a vacuum leak. Simple is... replace them with an appropriate vacuum cap.

CCT... The 2012 CCT has been proven to be inadequate for the long haul. Take your Tenere to the dealer and see if they will replace it under extended warranty.

I agree about checking the vac line/cap. This bike is a bit over my ability to repair with all the electronics. When I read about removing and replacing the Throttle sensors I decided that this was something better done by the dealer. As it turns out, my throttle bodies were 25% out of sync. They have been out of sync through to the first owner, and perhaps from the factory. I have about 16k on my 2012 and had issues with stalling and over idling discussed elsewhere in this forum. I never really felt the bike malfunction other than dying at intersections for no reason and jumping up to 3k rpm for no reason. After the throttle bodies were synced and Powerfoam sprayed through the injection system to clean the sensors, I definitely recognize an increase in power, a smoother engine in the lower rpm range, and no more power surges or dying at stops. This bike with all its electronics is really great when it works, but get a few things out of alignment, me thinks, many more things step out also. I hope this helps. Frankly, I'd take to a dealership so they can plug it into their computer. By the way, I never got one error code.

I had the TBS done on my 2013 with similar mileage to yours. Once done it was noticeably smoother and also improved MPG. Well worth doing in my opinion

Wonder how one determines out of sync measured by percentage?

That being said, TBS was one of the first things I learned to do on a motorcycle beyond changing fluids. It is surprisingly easy to accomplish with the correct tools and proved personally rewarding. I recommend you try it yourself if even remotely interested in doing your own work.
