Thank you for all your help and advice, but I took the test ride today and just could not see $6000-8000 of difference between my 09 Wee and a new S10. Nice bike though and maybe in a year or two I will pick up a used one.. Two questions :
1. The bar that protudes from the kick stand to just in front of the left foot peg - has this caused any of you an injury? Seemed like an ankle or leg breaker to me.
2. There is so much difference between the engine braking in Sport and Touring mode. Has this caused any of you to make a MISTAKE?

Thanks.
Not sure how the kickstand bar would injure you, but I never use it. I just put my foot on the base of the kickstand to lower it. Never had that bar interfere in anything.

No mistake here, I just adjust to the situation and down shift/brake accordingly.

Enjoy the Wee.

Did the same thing with the GS's a few years ago. (more like double in this country) so I can see your point.

But I just had a BMW moment there. Time to start practicing looking down my nose... :D

As far as your questions

1) No But that little bar I find useless. I end up using the end of the stand anyway.
2) No

Cheers
Graham

The ease of oil changes with the Hepco Becker bash plate jumped out at me. Will it accomodate the various lengths of 'compatible' oil filters?
I have only used Amsoil micromesh EaOM103 filters. Don't know the length of those, but only about 1/4" clearance left.

About the little bar - I have been known in the past to have my left foot on the ground in a position too close to and in front of the footpeg when I released the brake on a downhill slope or worse released the clutch and began to accelerate. If the footpeg does not move serious injury can result. In this case the footpeg will move, but the little bar doesn't. I guess no one else is as spactic as I.

[/quI guess i take it for granted when stopped on all my bikes where my feet are out further than the end of the pegs. I can have my balls of feet on ground and rock back and forth and the peg goes under my leg w/o touching. As fr the little peg thing, well my SIZE 14 USA feet don't even know it is there. I toon thought i would be hitting it all of the time, but not yet and just use the end of the side stand to lower it down.

After the first time my pant leg caught on that little nub I cut it off painted the wound black and then clear coated. For sure I don't miss it. It was bent from my first drop anyway.
I never thought about engine breaking in the two modes.

Thanks.
