The Missis, loves it and wants to buy it for me. But is it the right one?

So we're just about to buy our first big bike and plan to head of to Spain in Nov via France for some sport climbing. Also planning to head to Morroco, Mallorca, Eastern Europe etc etc. All 2-up and full kit. Ill also be using it for my journey to work which varies in distance but often a 80mile round trip.

I thought I liked the V-strom 650 but did not like it when sat on it, did not like the triumph 800 let seat. Sat on a Gs and really liked it!! But this thing just looks mean and ready to do the job and potentially cheaper in the long run. (As we won't be changing)

So any advice would be appreciated? We will be buying second hand and are not into hair braining around. I'm a strong 34 year old and my inside leg is 32inch.

Oh did I mention this is the bike that my partner wants and will be paying.

So what color S10 did you choose?

You are on a very biased forum, we really llke our S10s. WFOPete thinks it is a great commuting bike. There is not much to complain about with this bike. We have more issues talking about suspension upgrades, windshields, and what type of oil and filter to use.

Have you sat on a Tenere yet?

I have rode the Triumph Tiger 800 XC liked it but rider seat was a bit short, Took the 1200 Explorer out and I loved it but it cost to much for my pocket.
Owned a Tiger 1050 for three years and put on 46000 miles loved it but two up was not working with the wife.
Now I own the Tenere and it's one of the better bikes I have owned besides my old 1998 Tiger 900; It has it all and pulls like a tractor the seat is like the 800 Tiger but longer and feels wider (nice so far).

I reckon so, me and my Mrs have just come back from a 3500 mile tour of the Alps from the UK, the bike was spot on, I would say get a better rear shock and an ECU Flash to make the bike absolutely perfect, as she is buying the bike I am sure you could stretch to another grand to get it bang-on ::008::
