can,t beat a nice pair of KEVLAR flip flops
This guy does some very interesting and informative videos however i dont think this is one of them its more a " Jumping the Shark " moment. See Happy Days for reference. If i come off my bike at the speeds this armour is tested at im potentially in big trouble. If i hit something that doesnt move i could get very hurt. But alot of accidents are not at speed, you could have a low speed off and smash your knee or elbow to bits without any protection. With it the damage may make the difference in how long it takes to heal. I hope i dont test mine but would rather have it in than out its not like he is saying it makes it worse. I always ride with a chest protector as injuries to the chest are quite common and can be devistating even a low speed. I also wear a full length back protector.Food for thought.
Us "men of a certain age" watched that episode on TV when it aired for the first time. But I don't think this is that. With certain crashes, he is right. Certain other crashes, he's gonna be wrong. Ballistic vests that cops wear work great against bullets, but not so much against knives. (it's a speed thing) Unless he has sold out, I don't see him making a video that would get people hurt.. . . . its more a " Jumping the Shark " moment. See Happy Days for reference. . . .
I just think he is making a point and missing one at the same time. I watched the episode aswell. Happy Days was huge over here.Us "men of a certain age" watched that episode on TV when it aired for the first time. But I don't think this is that. With certain crashes, he is right. Like I said, unless he's sold out. I've never taken him as gospel anyway. He can no longer "appreciate life" wearing 250 grams of armour but wears a 2 kilo airbag vest EVERY DAY ? (Brand name prominently displayed...)
His kneecaps & elbows, not mine...
thats my evening tv sorted thanks borisI quite enjoy bike touring videos, especially those to and through scenic areas. I also know from this forum that Alaska is a popular destination for some forum members. I came across this video earlier and like the way it’s made and enjoyed the blokes story and delivery of his journey.
It’s almost three hours long and I’m an hour in and will do another hour tomorrow. You folks over the pond have some incredible scenery and stunning areas. So so much land to explore! Anyway, thought I’d put it up in case anyone wanted to give it a look.
