Rumour has it that the Super Ténéré is discontinued in Canada for the 2014 season... anybody know anything more? Is it also discontinued in the US as well?

Life (more like divorce lawyers :'() got in the way last year so my S10 that was supposed to happen never did and now it looks like the opportunity to buy locally has passed as well.

This bike simply has not done well in Canada. In the 2 model years they've been actually available for purchase here, I've seen exactly one on the road which is a bit disconcerting.

By the number of bikes that have been sold and growing adventure market in North America I would say that is just a unfounded rumor.
I certainly hope it is just a rumour, but I'm not so sure... a local dealer here in Ontario still has one (their only?) 2012 Super Ténéré on the showroom floor, listed in the local Trader as being "*RARE*". Of course, they haven't budged more than $500 off Yamaha Canada's overambitious MSRP. I talked to another dealer early last season who said he wouldn't stock one, but would order if I wanted. He didn't seem to keen on selling either- not a cent less than MSRP, so I walked.

This bike simply did not sell well here.

I know I posted something about this already, but here goes. rumor: dropped for 2014, brought back in 2015 with more power, electronics, more standard features, etc etc.

I missed your previous posting... I haven't been paying too much attention lately since life got in the way and I haven't been able to afford an S10 :(

Admittedly, I haven't been to any Yamaha dealers locally but is it possible there is too much 2013 stock left?

I'd rather see the same features (well, maybe less weight) and the smaller price tag myself.

I don't think its true almost all the euro bike manufactures came out with new adventure bikes in the last year. Honda crosstour, and Verys 1200 are kind of adventure bikes, more on the pavement princess side of things. ;)
