As I have stated, I have installed these on over a dozen bikes. I always use the same strategy:
1. Place the bike out in the sun.
2. Place the Tech Specs out in the sun.
3. Wash the tank with Dawn dish washing soap (universally known in the auto industry to remove ALL waxes).
4. Warm tank and pads a bit with hair dryer. I am looking for "warm to the touch" on the tank and a supper pliable feel to the Tech Spec.
5. Wipe tank with alcohol.
6. Apply Tech Spec working from one corner across to ensure full bond.
Tech Spec admitted to me that they have had troubles with their adhesives and received "bad batches" from time to time.
Once installed, they are a great product. I really like the grip on the tank.
