Just wanted to let everyone know that I have been in contact with Jim from Eastern Beaver about the Tenere. In case you are not familiar with his products, he makes top notch wiring kits for many applications. I am not affiliated with him in any way, just been a satisfied customer in the past.

Anyway, he is going to make a Super Tenere page on his site and offer specific kits for our bikes. For starters he is going to make a plug and play kit to pick up switched power. This will most likely come from either the aux light or heated grip plug.

In addition he would like to get some measurements from a fuze box install so that he can make a Tenere specific PC8 fuze box install kit.

I will post a link to his Tenere page when it is up and running, but for now here is where you can view his stuff:

I was waiting for my next paycheck before I ordered some of his items. Guess I'll wait a bit more.

Jim is excellent to work with very patient and will answer all your questions. I purchased and installed a dual horn harness and a 3CS harness they both work as advertised. I recommend Eastern Beaver to anyone wanting a easy way to wire their bike needs.

It looks like Jim has his Tenere page started on his website!

http://easternbeaver.com/Main/Bike_Specific/Super_Tenere/super_tenere.html

I still need to identify the connector that goes from the rear brake light switch so that Jim can make a plug and play switched power lead. I only had a few mins to look, but I think I might need to remove the gas tank and the rear cover under the passenger seat to find all the connections. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to chime in!

UPDATE:

I was able to find the connector that runs to the tail light. I think this is the connector that Jim will use to make a plug and play trigger for switched power.

All the connectors are under the seat, then under a plastic cover, then inside a rubber boot. Pretty nice and protected, I am impressed with the design and build of this bike! IT made it a bit of a pain to get to, but i like how protected they are.

Here is what it looks like with the seat and covers all off

The tail light wire has green tape on it

When Jim makes the kit, and I get my order I will post a more detailed install thread

Thank you for doing this. I like the Eastern Beaver products and Tenere specific products reduce the possibility of me creating an under seat fire :)

nice. I was working with Jim to try and get a nice pigtail from the aux 12V outlet lead with a SAE 2 pin pigtail that could plug n play....he wasn't able to duplicate the plug yet and suggested posilok a splice in instead....

standing by for other great easternbeaver products

Jim at Eastern Beaver has finished the adapter so that we can have "plug and play" adapter for switched power. You can find it (plus his other Tenere products) here:

http://easternbeaver.com/Main/Bike_Specific/Super_Tenere/super_tenere.html

Also for anyone interested in his 3CS kit (basically a smaller alternative to a fuze box, it can run 3 items) he is offering a discount to the first buyer to act as a "tester" for the first unit in order to work out any issues there may be with wire lengths etc...

Good job! Looks like you had to take the rear tank mounts loose to get the pesky plastic panel out of the way..good man! Hey, I was wonding if you came across a white colored connector inside that boot that isn't connected to anything. It has enough space for six terminals but apparantley only has four terminals installed in the sockets. Anyway I was wondering if the U.S. spec bikes have that same connector and was wondering about its purpose???

Correct, the rear tank mount must be removed. Then get the pesky plastic dude out of the way, then you find the big rubber boot with ALL the wiring connections in it. Not sure about the 6 position connector, but I will be in there again soon when I hook up my PC8 fuze box from eastern beaver. When I get in there again I will take a look and see what I find. I will post something up on this thread when I do...

Hey mate - you're in Japan... right? Jim at Eastern Beaver is in Japan... I gather he doesn't have access to a Super Tenere, which must make it hard to design stuff accurately. Why don't you do us ALL a favor and get together?

That would be correct ;) If I was in his neck of the woods, I'd be all over that 8)

Haha! Maybe when I'm between semesters....like Summer of next year. By that time, I'm sure he won't need the bike anymore ;D

Also added switched power, using a buss bar and 30A relay from auto parts store. The top 2 bars are switched power, the 3rd is permanent hot and the bottom is ground. Fuse is at the battery, the wire going off the right is the SAE plug for the air compressor and battery tender.

Made a GPS bracket out of ABS scrap for over the instrument cluster:
