Our Chief just approved two black ST's for patrol use. We have been using KTM 640's for a few years but really looking forward to using these. We took delivery last week and tomorrow we take them to get the emergency equipment installed. I haven't been able to find any others being used for police work so I'm really looking forward to see how they do. When we get them back in two weeks I'll update with photos and let you know how they do as police bikes. Our department is repsonsible for several thousand acres of dirt trails as well as highways and roads. The KTM's were great off road but I think these will perform better even with all the equipment installed.

If anyone knows of a department that is using these bikes please let me know. I would be interested in talking with them.

Great for Poway (California?) and Yamaha USA. You might want to contact Yamaha USA to see if they would provide assistance in the conversion. One of YST.com's prominent members / vendor, SpeedStar, is located very near you. He has a wealth of performance and riding knowledge.

Search this forum for the Whelen TIR3 LED light module. It will mount in the place of the rear reflector and can be combined with the other safety lights.

The Trail Tech Vector Remote Switch would be a good addition to control the readings on the dash as well as being able to make function changes without having to reach forward while removing one hand from the handlebars.

TechSpec manufactures some great tank grips that will make you more stable off road.

Pyramid makes the much needed FendaExtenda.

Rox Risers can be useful.

Headlight Protector, Body and Engine guards, Skid Plate, and a bunch of other guards.

One of the member / vendor manufactures the extended Clutch and Front Brake lines.

Kriega USA has fork seal protectors.

Guessing you will use the rugged luggage.

Your Yamaha Super Tenere should be a huge plus to off-road law enforcement and Yamaha USA.

Search this forum for your needs and thoughts. A bunch of great guys with seemly limitless knowledge and experience.

Welcome aboard! Seems like someone posted once about the SuperT being used by law enforcement in Europe somewhere as well.

Anxious to hear your feedback on how well they do for your force.

R3B once posted that the Dutch police were considering the S10, but apparently lost to BMW or BMW money...

In regards to the exceptional riding video....anyone who's ever taught/coached MC riders in the MSF courses, knows; "Turn your head and look where you want to go!"

Very tight turns.

Got the "mock-up" on the lights. Still not set on the take down lights but we will see. I'll keep you all updated. I like the idea of contacting the Yamaha rep. Will start that process ASAP.

On the rear picture you will see the radio box. We had to put it up there to hold the radio gear. We had them center it over the rear tire to help with COG issues but other than that, there is not too much weight being added up high.

One more photo. Now the paint has not been done yet. We are looking at a skunk stripe white down the tank and a white front fender. We may need more for title 13 stuff.

I've seen the JA Police put on demonstrations to that effect, but haven't actually watched a competition before. They spend alot of time scaping the crash bars..pretty impressive stuff.
