Suggestions for Good Beginner "trail" West of Denver?

Bit of a dated thread but thought it was worth keeping it going. The roads around Gross Reservoir (Boulder County) are near Denver and good place to get some dirt practice. Gross Dam Road leading to Windy and Osprey Point are bladed and probably do-able on any vehicle but there some good grades and nice hairpin turns. It's accessible via either Flagstaff Rd or Hwy 72, both are enjoyable by themselves.
