Does anyone know what tires come from the factory for the S10? I've been running the Bridgestone Battlewings on my Strom and really like them.

Last time I bought tires, I bought two Battlewing rears (got a deal, so bought two). Have a brand new one sitting in the garage and would consider myself extremely lucky if Yamaha uses these on their S10's.

They will be either the Battlewing or the Tourance. They are exactly the same size as your VSTROM too!!!

They are indeed Battle Wings. Not bad at all on the road ... all gets a bit loose on broken terrain ... but then you'd assume that anyway.

Great luck! I only ride gravel/dirt roads when I get off the pavement and the Battle Wings are OK for that. I've heard the Tourances are good tires, as well.

I hope they come with Battlewings. I too have these on my Strom and they do great on the road.

Speedstar, when my bike comes in i plan on installing the TKC 80's before I take delivery. Would you be intereseted in a set of stock tires with no miles on them?

It would appear that some of the European stock is being fitted with the Metzeler Tourance hoops. No idea how good or bad they are. I did have Z6's on my 01 and they were pretty good.

Tourance EXP are good too. I have tried them too but I still prefer the Battlewings. I guess we will just have to wait and see in May what they show up with.

Here in Europe the type off tire depends of the colour of the bike. My grey one is fitted withe the Metzlers but the blue ones with the battlewings. But what I have felt and heard of they are almost the same.

I'll set up a thread for tyre/tire wear rates .... only for the ST mind. Obviously, there's no rush on that one yet. ::)

If all goes as agreed with the delaer, I plan on taking delivery with Heidenau K60s on my S10. They are a bit tricky to find, but at least in my experience, absolutely worth the effort.
